“Tree Hugger Must”
Review of Angel Oak Tree

Angel Oak Tree
Reviewed 31 October 2013

We almost did not go to see this jewel---that would have been a mistake! Take the time, for some reason this tree simply draws an emotional feel for surviving all that must have come its way! Hope the caretakers continue to treat it well for future generations!!!

This tree is simply amazing! You will never really understand the magnitude of this tree and its beauty unless you top in. It doesn't even take a long stop - we stopped on our way to Charleston - it was definitely worth it!

Angel Oak is a must for any Charleston visitor checklist! It's beautiful, there is plenty of free parking and it's free. Great photo op location!

Angle Tree – on John’s Island outside of Charleston. It is a 400-500 year old live oak tree that is thought to be the oldest living thing in the country. It is a free site and should be added to your must-sees while visiting in Charleston. Although you’ll see lots of these majestic trees draped in gypsy moss throughout the region, the two outstanding ones are this tree and one in Middleton Plantation. The site also has a cute gift shop with lots of items to choose from...enjoy your time here!
