I did not play the famous Ocean Course at Kiawah, but wanted to see it first hand. Headed to the Ryder Cup Bar for Saturday brunch. Breathtaking views of ocean, 18th fairway/green, and practice green. Agree with other reviews that bar was a little pricey (both food and drink) but, hey - it's Kiawah. We expected as much. Not as picturesque as 18th at Pebble Beach, but pretty darn nice. Lunches were both very tasy (recommend the crispy shrimp). As an aside, watching the winds blow in from the ocean across the 18th fairway and green, I want no part of that course!

This place is a little difficult to get to and a bit pricey, but if you want an unforgettable experience it is well worth it! We had the fried green tomatoes with pimento and tomato jam on a bed of arugula. Awesome! The jam is fab! We then ordered the Bagger Burger and the shrimp and crab salad roll with slaw and bistro potatoes. It was all excellent. And your view the entire time is the 18th green and the cast Atlantic Ocean. It was wonderful!!

We had 8 adults and 6 children Sunday night of Memorial weekend. Children were seated at their own table within eyesight of adults and we were put at another table. It was pouring rain but the view was still beautiful! The waiter for the children and our waitress could not have been nicer. He even gave the kids complimentary ice cream as a reward for such good behavior. We had a wonderful time and the food was delicious. One of the most fun evenings in a long time! It's hard to find a good Long Island Ice Tea and theirs was outstanding.

So I did not plan to eat at any of the resorts as typically it is shipped in food that I can eat anywhere. But Ryder cup was recommended so we tried it for lunch. What a bummer. Overpriced food that was typical of a “hotel” type restaurant. I will say large portions but nothing special. The view is unbelivable though. So if you want to pay high prices to sit on a back porch and eat just okay food this is the place for you.

It’s very crowded and takes a while to be waited on even with standing and sitting at the bar. Especially if the restaurant is busy and people are waiting on tables! Beautiful views of the course!
