“A Must!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

You'll probably have to ask the locals of Mt. Pleasant where to find this restaurant....no signage, tucked in out of the way but great food with a charming atmosphere.

“Best seafood in Mount Pleasant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Great southern seafood. Casual, unique atmosphere. Unfortunately they do not take reservations. Also check holidays, they may not be open.

“This place is an experience!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

It's basically a restaurant in a glorified shipping container and almost impossible to find if you don't know where it is already. Paper plates, screw cap wine in plastic cups, disgusting boiled peanuts, but fresh fried clams to die for!! I suggest you take your own bottle of wine, sit on the dock to enjoy the shrimp boats and pelicans in Shem Creek for a while and then knock yourself out over deep fried shrimp and clams. They are the best things on the menu, everything else is too expensive. They could be more generous with their portions. As to one reviewers complaint that everything is fried ... yes it's fried, that is what this place does! You don't go here for a salad. And Charleston is famous, justifiably so, for it's fried whole belly clams and shrimp.

“Most awful place ever!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

Was told by locals this was a "must do" and would happily wring their necks for wasting my time and money here. I would give this restaurant a ZERO review if possible. The food was greasy, extremely overpriced, small portions served by a snarky "you should be honored to be here" attitude. I've recieved better service at Dick's Lasr Resort in Myrtle Beach!!! It was absolutely the worst place I've ever been....and I'd eat at McDonald's before I'd eat here again.

“Nice views of water but overpriced for fried seafood”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

The Wreck is a fun, casual spot next to the harbor but we were shocked by how expensive a plate of fried shrimp or clams or scallops was (about $20). Everything is served on paper to soak up the grease. The hush puppies were particularly good and all our seafood was fine, but I wouldn't go back.

If you've never had boiled peanuts, you can sample them here because they bring every table a basket. We thought they were terrible but I guess the locals like them.

A friend of ours from Mt. Pleasant lives in walking distance and hasn't been to the Wreck in over 20 years. Now I know why.
