Beautiful gardens. Really enjoyed the educational and entertaining program throughout the zoo, led by volunteers. It kept a 14, 12, and 6 year old entertained, which is no small feat.

Brookgreen Gardens is one of the best experiences in the Pawleys Island/Murrells Inlet area. The history alone, the love story of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, is worth the visit to see the beautiful sculptures set in acres and acres of gardens. Your ticket price is good for the week so you can visit more than once. Be sure to take a tour with one of the well versed volunteer guides. There are indoor exhibits to see, a farm area and zoo. If you like to walk this is the place for you. When you are ready for a break visit the restaurant and gift shop. Also visit Huntington Beach Park across the road to see the Huntington's home Atalaya.

This was my fourth visit to Brookgreen Gardens in the past 8 months and every time I am amazed with the beauty. One could easily spend a few days experiencing each part. The gardens are gorgeous and the animals are entertaining.

You admission is good for the week and I think it would take that long to really see everything. Bring bug spray. The biting flies were horrible especially near the zoo & butterfly house. Our four year old especially enjoyed the children's garden.

Thank you for your wonderful review of the gardens. For those who forget their insect repellent, we are offering a 40% discount on bug spray in our gift shop this month so our guests will not get "bugged." The flies have a short life cycle and will be gone soon.
