“very nice place but poor internet connection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

I enjoyed staying here and would do so again but I was lucky that I had done my internet searches before I arrived because the internet connection is very poor and I could not get any sites to load. We tried on 3 different devices with the same result and no matter the time of day/night, we had no success. Also, please be very careful when leaving your first floor unit. In ours the door threshold going out into the hallway was raised and I took a very bad fall on Friday night. Luckily I was not hurt badly especially since I had a 12 hour ride back to PA. The threshold is fine coming into the unit. Maybe it was just my unit.

I am planning on staying here again next year and hopefully the internet will be better.

Ellington is also situated in a good location close to many things to do and see.

Room Tip: It is very nice to have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. In the first floor unit, I was able to hear the...

I have now met the rudest hotel check in staffing the world. Katie, our check in person, was beyond belief. She could not find our reservation in the stack of paper before here. She did not want our reservation number and made it clear were not to speak. After 10 minutes, she finally checked her computer. She then told us our room was not ready and it would take an hour. We were told to go away for that time. We were sent to get a parking pass which could not be give because we did not have a room number for Katie refused to give us a room number. We were parked in a 30 minute check in area. We sat in reception and watched the staff rudely treat others and be nice to some checking in. We walked up to the check in desk at the 59 minute point and were told very rudely we were early by 1 minute and we were not going to be helped by a new check in man who was quickly displaced by the charming (?) Katie who said we were early. It had to be pointed out it was over an hour. After much playing around, phone calls, etc., we were given room keys. This rude treatment tainted our visit. On check out the new staff was nice but full of excuses for the prior experience.
To be fair, the room was a good size. It was clean. Some of the furniture was a bit beaten up. The room was loaded with some cover up perfume that took hours to get rid of with the door open, windows open, fans running and AC turned on. What were they covering up? We had to leave the windows open all night with the heat on so we could breath
I could not recommend this place to anyone.

The little apartment was clean and furnished ok. It did have one of the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen, toilet and tub squished together with no elbow room. The outer part had two sinks and was roomier.
The major reason for the low rating is because of the rude staff. They did not have our paper work completed (no apology) so our accommodation was not ready. We sat and watched other people register and receive their keys and apartment assignments for over an hour. Finally we approached the desk and asked if our place had been readied since it was now 4 pm. The clerk said "it's only 3:59 and we don't have to let you in until 4"! I believe he just wanted us to wait as a matter of principle. We finally got our assignment, then our parking sticker (separate desk and clerk). We found the map easy to read but saw a number of other people at a loss searching for their accommodations. Parking was extremely limited. There were quite a number of handicap spaces but very few regular spots.
We will never consider joining or staying with anything to do with Festiva hospitality group. Maybe we have just been spoiled by the people a bit further up the road at South Beach. Their staff does everything they can to keep people happy

We love this resort it is very clean and quiet. Nice to have free passes to MB State Park & Huntington Beach State Park. Very nice quiet area for families to share :) Don't play golf however, r the golf course is beautifully maintained

Room Tip: We've never had a bad one!

This resort with golf course is well maintained and pleasant. It is also very near a hospital in case one might be required. We are owners in Festiva and this is one of their properties. The area has fresh seafood restaurants, state parks,Brookgreen gardens, and the Grand Strand Beaches and plentiful shopping areas. Lots of activity there. We attended a wedding and visited with grandchildren. There is something for everyone in the area. I would recommend it for a pleasant home away from home retreat.

Room Tip: 2 bedroom units in phase 2 have a full size Jacuzzi tub in each bath. plus a hall half bath adjacent...

Even though the resort isn't on the beach, it is very close to Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park- and they give you a pass for your car to get in to any SC State Park which is a great value. It's nice to visit the parks because you can have more space at the beach without all the hotel traffic. There are also bathroom and shower facilities at both parks. Plus Huntington Park has a marsh where you can see alligators and birds up close. Back at the resort there is a nice indoor pool and a small outdoor pool, hot tub, putt-putt golf course, picnic area with a small fountain and charcoal grills... You can save money by cooking in your kitchen in your room- it really does have everything you need! Even a washer and dryer. You get a starter kit of laundry soap, dish and dishwasher soap, tissues, bath soaps, coffee, cream, sugar... We brought a lot of unnecessary items that we won't need to bring and take up space next time. (Someone commented on the TV's and stove- they are flat-screen now and glass-top stoves) The screen was not sagging. (We were in unit 9 but they all looked the same)

Room Tip: They all overlook the golf course.

Very nice and clean. Very safe and friendly place. enjoyed our time there. My kids love the pools and putt putt course. We rode bikes one day. Had a lot of neat things you could do in the activities department. We didn't to do any because we were doing other things but would really like to the next time. Loved the fact that you could borrow board games and movies. We were able to go to Huntington State park and my husband and I did a tour of the Waccamaw river it was really nice. Some of our party enjoyed a game of golf. Very nice course. We will be going back in the future. Really enjoyed our vacation.
