Lovely all around. Would love to share with tweens, teens, and twenties children. Not much for children under those ages.

When in the Murrells Inlet area for the first time, park the car, take a relaxing stroll on this boardwalk along the waterfront, be introduced to the marsh and inlet, get a convenient overview of this restaurant row, but most of all enjoy the view. Hear live music from the restaurant decks, check out the Arts and crafts vendors, hangout along the inlet while eating and drinking, head out on the pier that extends into the inlet over the water, see people fishing and crabbing, listen to children laughing, view people watching you, smell many different aromas from all the restaurants and the strong organic smell of the marsh at low tide, see the boats and yachts navigate the creeks at high tide, notice the kayakers slip through the water, watch the fireworks on Mondays at 9:00 p.m., stare at the goats and peacocks on Goat Island, observe what is happening on the boat docks, study the cranes, egrets, and other marsh birds, follow the cast nets of fishermen catching bait, and be glad you discovered this place. The boardwalk is a little less than 1 mile long and parallels the creek in a slow curve, not zig zag fashion. Facing East towards the ocean off in the distance, notice on the far side of the marsh the beach homes of Garden City.

We visited on a Monday which coincidentally was a fireworks show. This made it fairly crowded, however, it was stunningly beautiful. There was live music from the restaurant decks and also some neat arts and crafts vendors. In my opinion it was like an upgraded boardwalk. Worth a visit!!
