“Great for bringing the kids on a business trip...”
Reviewed 22 July 2013 via mobile

Accomodations were good with a small kitchenette, good free breakfast in the morning. Did not attend the afternoon appetizers and drinks though! My kids had a blast between the beach and 3 pools. The kids park was great for all ages along with the lazy river. Lots of kids activities like face painting, dance contest at 4 every day and tons more!! Easy walk over to the Hilton, where my convention was and a free shuttle as well. Plenty of things to do in and around the hotel which made for an easy stay in north myb! Dont excpect this to be a glamorous hotel since its probably 30 years old and the wesr and tear of being on the beach, but it works great all around. Bar needs to have Landshark or Bud Light Lime, thats a no brainer for a beach location so I was dissappinted regarding selection!!

Stayed at the Embassy Suites on beach in North Myrtle the middle of July and it was a very nice stay. The hotel is clean, great location on the beach and staff is excellent! The breakfast spread is great. There are a few downsides. The hotel has about 20 floors (great views of the beach and pools) but there are only 3 elevators. If you're coming or going at prime times you could wait about 10 minutes for your ride. The free drinks in afternoon are always nice at Embassy but this one offered only chips and a few veggies for food and again, the lines were long so get there when it opens or just before it closes at 7:30. They have a number of pools but all are small and get crowded and that results in lack of chairs. It can be hard to find a lounge chair or any chair except very early or after 2 or 3 PM. Not much hotel can do given the crowds in the area and lack of any further deck space. Basically, the crowds simply are too much for hotel to handle any better. Nevertheless, if you avoid prime times (use facilities early or late) it's a great stay. The crowding issue applies to breakfast and parking as well. The answer is the same for breakfast and for parking use the underground parking which for some reason is usually quite available, otherwise you care bakes in the sun and so will you.

Room Tip: The higher your floor the less noise you have from late night beach and pool folks.

We took our family vacation to Myrtle Beach. This Embassy Suites has your typical amenities with some shortcomings. The breakfast was good but very crowded and delayed if you waited to later in the morning. The waterpark is good for younger children with is water playground and very short lazy river. There were 2 pools that were nice but not very large. The manager's reception is on the 2nd floor and includes simple snacks. There was not enough seating to handle all of the customers on the nights we were there. The hotel has 20 floors but only 3 elevators to handle the traffic. We had a good experience but exceptional like we have come to expect from Embassy Suites.

I've stayed at this property 4 times in the past 3 years. The first time was "OK" as my earlier review would indicate but the property seemed to be showing some wear and tear. Still it was nice but not a first string resort property. Last year was down even a bit more. Then I stayed during the winter for a planning meeting and they indicated--and I could see--changes were being made.

This visit was great. The room was in excellent shape--last year the AC seemed to have trouble keeping up and the bathroom had some mild mildew. This year the room and furnishings--and AC--were all in great working order. The room was at the end of the hall--if you can spring for the extra cost of the corner suites I highly recommend it--so that helped. But there were lots of kids running around and the noise level never seemed out of line with the surroundings.

There is a great on-site upscale restaurant called Vintage 12 that will get a separate review but it was good too. And the bar is nice. The check in was efficient as well. The internet costs extra--I just wish hotels would just build it in as a cost of doing business--but it was much faster than last year too.

The room was made up in a timely fashion and the toiletries were all nice and well stocked. If there is one complaint--and it's minor--the elevators could get backed up some with families and boogie boards, etc. but it was never a long wait and that brings me to my last comment; everyone seemed really happy and talkative and nice on the elevators. Without getting to maudlin it was nice to see a slice of Americana (the family summer vacation) in action.

Nice to see the owner's obvious investment in the property paying off.

Room Tip: Try for a corner suite if you can swing it. If you book through the Hilton site you can request an u...

Excellent accommodations for a family stay. The Room was clean, roomy and comfortable. The view (ocean view/fun park) was great for seeing the ocean, keeping tabs of family members at the pool or water park below. Especially enjoyed watching the daily 4pm dance party at the pool daily :) All this contributed to making our limited time together (due to military deployment) memorable and enjoyable.

The Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation is an awesome hotel. The water park and pools are great for children. It is a great family atmosphere. We return here each year and the hotel has improved something every year. This was our 12th consecutive year staying here in July. We think it is the best place on the Grand Strand to stay if you have a family.

Great property. New lobby. Pool area/water park are fantastic. The surronding area of hotel is great. Less than a 5 minute walk to the Appache Pier. Breakfast is wonderful. It gets crowded from 8-10, but what hotel at the beach restaurant doesnt? Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spotless.
