Hampton Inn & Suites Myrtle Beach/Oceanfront
Ranked #7 of 209 Hotels in Myrtle Beach
Certificate of Excellence

We visited Myrtle Beach for several reasons, but the primary reason was the beach. This hotel is directly on the beach. There are no roads between your room and the water. The ability to leave the patio doors open at night and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean is priceless.

This is a resort hotel with one exception- no restaurant or bar on the premises. There is a snack bar that does serve alcoholic drinks, but it was opened very limited hours and only on Thursday-Sunday. With the exception of the included breakfast, you'll have to order delivery food or leave the hotel.

There are several swimming pools of all shapes and sizes including two lazy rivers and two hot tubs. The check-in Clerk stated that the pools were heated but we found them to be very cold; particularly the large lazy river. With the ocean still at 64 degrees (it is late April, after all) our swimming options were limited unless we wanted to be cold.

The room was very spacious. We had a two bedroom- two bathroom suite and found it perfectly adequate for our family of five. The kitchenette was convenient and a nice way to minimize eating expenses. Although clean, we found the carpeting in need of replacement as it was slightly tattered and bunching up in high traffic areas. Also, the ceiling paint in the shower stall was chipping. The beds also seemed a little tired to me; normally I find the bedding to be great at Hampton Inns but the mattresses here were a little uncomfortable. My Wife also commented that her back was a little sore after waking up in the morning. I don't mean to suggest that the room was bad, but it just didn't seem as fresh and new compared to the many other Hampton Inns we have stayed at over the years.

The staff was friendly so no complaints there.

If our travels bring us back to Myrtle Beach, we will certainly consider this property again.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money and get an oceanfront room. The partial ocean view look to have a minimal vie...

My husband and I went for just one night to get away and relax. The hotel is nice, the King room was fine. We had no complaints there. The only complaints I would have is the breakfast. It was not very good. Powered eggs, no meats, cereal, oatmeal, waffles and juices. The views were wonderful. The beach area was very close and there were 2 lazy rivers, 1 pool and a hot tub area. Overall, nice experience and would go back.

This hotel is wonderful - only minutes from airport. Hotel runs a free shuttle. The area of the beach in front of the hotel is clear - no seaweed or rough sand. Hotel staff is super-friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!!!

This hotel has an excellent location along Myrtle Beach, and provides the quality of service that you would expect with the Hampton Inn/Hilton brand. We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. Overall we are very happy (otherwise we would find somewhere else as there are so many choices in Myrtle Beach), however this year I thought two areas were slipping. First, I thought the breakfast was not as good as it was in the past...tastewise and selection wise. Secondly, and in my mind most important, the pools and outside areas are not as well kept as in the past. I even found a cigarette butt in the lazy river and this feature on the south side was not operational. I heard several folks complaining about the pools not living up to the "heated" advertisement. Additionally, the hotel has started catering to groups which I hope doesnt get out of hand.

Booked this hotel based on other reviews and was not disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful especially with dinner and activity recommendations. Lobby is beautiful especially if you don't want to sit in your room later in the evening. Many TVs and fireplaces available to kick back and relax. The rocking chairs on the lobby balcony are so inviting. Views are spectacular. Would definitely stay here again.

So...doubt my review will help much as I only stayed a night...but I think Hampton Inns are great. Clean, etc. Breakfast was fine too...right on the water...

Only down side is NO food at all in the property (except breakfast)...no bar; no place to even buy snacks..but you can order in from nearby places. It was just a bit odd, that's all.

Net/net...although I'm not the Myrtle Beach vacation type...but if I was...it would be a fine place to stay!
