Recently selected Hampton Inn Oceanfront for a family get-away, primarily because most Myrtle beach hotels/condos do NOT have Queen-size beds--only doubles!! It fit the bill as far as Hampton standards go...very clean, great housekeeping staff, wonderful front-desk staffing, comfy-not too cramped rooms, great oceanfront view!

We were disappointed that there are NO OPTIONS for a mid-day lunch/snack unless you navigate out of the impossibly tight garage for take-out food. Do NOT bother with the "hot dog" stand across the street--$20 for 4 yukky foot-longs.

There is not a chance of getting a cocktail ~ we love the new "family" approach to Myrtle, but it would be nice to have a "toddy" on vacation!!!

This will be our last visit to Myrtle Beach--you can travel to so many other fabulous spots for the $1,000. it cost for a 3-night visit!!

This was our first trip to MB.....we had originally booked at another hotel(dump) for 7 nights but were lucky enough to get out after 2 nights and stay at the Hampton the remaining 5 nights. The Hampton In was spectacular, clean, up to date, staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was awesome. The pool area was huge, the kids loved it. They even had activities for the children (am & pm). We truly felt like we were at a 5 star resort. We will definetly be back and only stay at the Hampton Inn !

Our first trip to Myrtle Beach was wonderful and that was due to the immaculate suite and service we received at this Hampton Inn. Our suite was clean and spacious (something my wife is obsessed with) with loads of room for us and our five children. The pools and close proximity to the beach made each day a wonderful memory. The complimentary buffet breakfasts were perfect for us ( delicious and great variety) as we have early risers with the little ones and later for our two teenagers. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to a family death. The office, maintenance and housekeeping staff all went above and beyond to help us prepare for a quick departure. They even returned items to us by mail, that we had left behind in the rush. We plan to return for two weeks in October and wouldn't think of staying at any other property.

I recently stayed at this Hampton Inn, and had a really nice time. The best part is the pool area. There are two huge hot tubs, one big splash pool, 2 lazy rivers, and I think 4 inground pools all in one area. There are tons of lounging chairs around the pool, both in and out of the sun, and there are 2 hammocks and a small playground set. My kids and I spent most of our time by the pool. It was a great place for the kids to have fun! When you exit the back of the pool area, you are literally right on the beach! So it is easy to go from one to the other.

The free breakfast was pretty good, with lots of variety. There wasn't enough seating though, and everyday it was hard to find a spot to sit, even when we went at different times.

I was surprised at how small the room was, it was set up a little differently than most hotel rooms, as you walk in at the foot of the beds, instead at the sides. Also, the balcony was a little disappointing because it was facing another balcony that was only about 15 feet away, so there was very little privacy on the balcony, or even in your room if you had the curtains open, which is kind of a bummer to have to keep the curtains closed at the beach! (We didn't have an ocean front room)

Other than that, I was very happy with my time there, and I would love to go back!

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach, so I have no point of comparison to other hotels. The lobby and common areas are clean and well decorated with a Cape Cod feel that works. I'd not deem the room immaculate, however. Spare blanket in closet was mildewed and full of sand (never checked) and bathroom was older - as we were in the older tower -supposedly renovated last year during construction of the newer North Tower. My issue is that they touted and maintained that there were two Queen beds in the room. We have a queen and double at home and I know the difference. If you're concerned about bed size, spring for a suite if you can. (Also, there is no restaurant or bar on premises - nor a hint of recycling).
