We arrived at the hotel at 2pm and appreciated the offer to fill out paperwork at that time even though room was not ready. They said they had a line for "keys only" once official checkin time of 3pm was reached, but at 3pm this was not clearly designated...I had to wait over 30 minutes just to get my keys even though I'd already "checked in". All of the employees were very nice and helpful, it just took a while.

We stayed in the new Cayman Tower and stayed in both a deluxe oceanfront 3 br condo and also an oceanfront 2br condo. Both were beautiful rooms with incredible views. Great kitchen with granite countertops, full dishwasher, large refrigerator, etc. Appreciated the nice new crib brought to us at no charge for our stay. This was probably the nicest crib and thickest mattress any hotel has provided us. It was brand new and very sturdy. Loved having flat screen tv's in all rooms. Dining table was great and could seat six. There were 5 elevators in this new tower and we NEVER waited more than about 30 seconds for one, even though the hotel was sold out during our stay. Also loved the quiet indoor corridors of this new tower.

A few minor complaints - despite closing the curtains in master, the master was always 15 degrees hotter than rest of unit. We froze in the back bedroom and were too hot in the master. Wish the air vents could be closed in the cooler rooms so the unit would feel a more uniform temperature. Did not like having flat sheets on the mattresses in the beds...sheets kept coming off. Wish there were fitted sheets on all beds. Beds in all rooms but master were extremely firm. Last, our in-room safe stopped working the 1st day. Despite several people coming up to try to fix it, it could not be fixed (the problem apparently was electrical). It was frustrating not to be able to put our wallets in the safe when we were on the beach.

Loved the variety of pools, especially the new ones next to the Sea Captain's House. My 22 month old had a blast in the submarine. The indoor pools were also very nice. Wish the pool towels were more abundant, but I understand the hotel was packed and the towels are going to run out. Speaking of towels, I wish people didn't put them on chairs at 6am and never return to the chairs. It was hard for us to find chairs some mornings. Also, there was a picture in the nice booklet of the resort given out in the lobby of a children's area (an outdoor kiddie pool and fountains for kids to splash in) that is not actually at the resort. I asked at the front desk where this area was and was told it was actually a picture from a sister resort. Also wish the waterslide had been here when we stayed, but understand it was on back order and should arrive by early fall. The staff are so disappointed that it hasn't arrived yet and were very apologetic.

We usually stay in South Myrtle where the parking garages seem to generally be on the same side of the street as the resorts/hotels. It wasn't that big a deal to cross the street, just a minor annoyance. Also, mirrors are DESPERATELY needed in the parking garage so you can see other cars coming around the corners. We appreciated a security guard being in the garage late at night.

We loved the convenience and quality of the food at Sea Captain's House next door. We ate there almost daily. Breakfast buffet was $8.95 and worth every penny. We also ordered off the menu and it was delicious as well.

The beach was a bit crowded (it was high season) and you do have to put your beach umbrella in line with the lifeguard's umbrellas ($30-35 a day to rent, by the way) or behind them. So it's very crowded if you have your own umbrella, unless you walk a ways down the beach (which we did).

I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are looking for spacious accomodations with great views, a great location in Myrtle Beach, and/or if you have children that would love the water attractions and pools. We had a good time and will probably return.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the new Cayman condos. We had a nice 3 bedroom oceanfront room for 6 people (including 2 small children). The location is very near Broadway at the Beach, so very convenient to a lot of places. The room was very clean and of course the view was wonderful, both from the living room and from the master bedroom. Plenty of towels at the pool most of the time and the pool food/drinks were very nice. Several good pools for the kids.
Our problems: it was extremely crowded, both on the beach and at the pool (and this is with vacancies available). It's true what others wrote about the lounge chairs: they are pretty much all taken by about 8 or 9 oclock. That goes for the tables too. One woman stood guard of her table all day (and they had at least 5 lounge chairs saved) and we never saw one person sit at the table. We didn't see her by the pole near the table and tried to set our food on the table for 5 minutes to eat as fast as we could (so my 2 and 5 year old wouldn't have to hold their hamburger boxes or put them on the ground) and you would have thought we did the worst thing in the world. She berated us for 5 minutes until we left. Other places I've been had rules against saving chairs. I could have gone out early but ,quite honestly ,with 2 kids you don't sit on a lounge chair much and I wouldn't want to save it if I wasn't going to sit on it.
Also people were smoking around (and in) the pool. One day someone...not a baby...pooped in the main pool and it had to be closed .
We had about 5 lightbulbs burned out in our rooms and it took asking four times over three days to finally get them replaced.
The kitchen was not very well stocked.
My family that went with us was very surprised to find out it was new construction. They thought it was renovated because there is paint peeling around the windows leading to the pool and several of the games in the game room were broken. One out of three of the animal water sprays in the submarine pool was not working. The website says it includes an exclusive water park for the property but when we asked about it they said the 60 foot slide was on back order.
All of these things may not be huge things by themselves but for some reason the thing that bothered all of us perhaps the most was that they don't have fitted bottom sheets on any of the beds and the sheets they use are not large enough to even tuck in so in the morning all the beds had the sheets pulled partly off the mattress.
We've stayed at other places we liked better and will probably to one of those next time. North Myrtle Beach really seems a lot nicer.

The hotel was very fabulous, the beach is the closest to caribbean i've seen in the US, and it was an overall great experience.

My son and I stayed in a renovated double bedded, oceanfront suite, which actually had 4 beds. 2 double beds, a murphy bed and a sleeper sofa. Full kitchen, nice size bathroom. All immaculately clean!!
Our room was very, very clean and I watched the staff every morning from my oceanfront balcony clean the pools and lazy rivers, and hose down the grounds. This hotel takes pride in their facility. The staff was friendly and professional.

My only issue is that the parking lot is across the street. Crossing with a child was sort of scary, but it was OK.

Can't wait to go back next year - it was one of our best vacations ever!!!

This resort was great - it was at the most northerly end of the strip, but the street was quiet, the rooms were clean and the pools were in great shape!! With a small child, there were lots of places for him to go that weren't over 3ft deep and that was great. The housekeeping staff was great too....washing the dishes was not in her job description, but she washed ours anyway - how great is that?!! I would definitely stay caribbean resorts again!
