“Not good for everyone!”
Reviewed 15 March 2013

Me and my family stayed at this hotel from December 30-31th of last year and had problems from the time I checked into the hotel. I reserved a cottage unit and when we entered the room it smelled horrible. In addition, the room was filled with old furniture that made it depressing to look at. We quickly went to the front desk and requested to change rooms. We finally were able to find a decent room to sleep for the night in the main building 3 bed apartment which did not smell bad. We booked the reservation through delta skymiles so we could not get a direct refund for the room, but Jack Robertson did work with us and try to make it right as best as he could. We ended up getting the difference in delta points back due to the room we stayed in costing less points than the cottage unit. Overall, I would not stay here again as the hotel does adequately not fit my needs as a traveler. However, If you are looking for a affordable place to stay and do not mind a lower-scale place to stay, this is the hotel for you. If you are to stay here, make certain that you do not stay in the cottage units, they are closed up and smell terrible! The oceanfront building is decent as well as the apartments in the main building.

I remember your situation distinctly and would like to take this opportunity to again apologize for the musty smell in the cottage that you experienced last year. I can assure you that since your stay, we have taken measures to prevent a similar situation for incoming guests. We have since had an immeasureable amount of positive feedback on the cleanliness and decor of those units. In fact, if you scan through our TripAdvisor reviews, you can read some of those recent comments from guests. Again, I am sorry that your experience was anything less than exceptional in every way. Despite your comment that you will not return, I hope that you will consider giving us another try. We take guests' feedback very seriously and I believe that you would enjoy our property a second time.

Went down to MB for a guys golf weekend and the hotel was a perfect fit. Right at the beach and close to all the courses. Clean, modern and an outstanding staff! Perfect for families, golf, beach and great prices. Dennis the GM is a wealth of local knowledge. This is the place in MB!

We stayed at the Best Western Grand Strand out of season (28 March). It was a truly excellent stay. We had an Ocean view which was actually right on the Ocean, the room was equipped with cooker, microwave, refridgerator etc and had two queen beds. It was most comfortable and was in easy distance of restaurants and attractions. The staff were very friendly and typical of South Carolina. In particular the lady who arranged the breakfast was most charming and attentive and when possible made cooked items to suppliment the continental breakfast provided. The hotel was exceedingly clean and we could not fault anything. Yes, we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: It was cool in Myrtle Beach in March so bring warm clothes, but it is worth it.

Stayed one night while in town for an event the next day. Got in late and co traveler did not arrive until 1 am. Nice 2 suite room, kitchenette coffee maker etc. Only there for 1 night so not needed but nice touch. Queen bed in each room, lots of pillows on each bed, mattress quite comfortable. Next morning hit breakfast as soon as it opened. Biscuits/gravy, waffles, eggs,,usual hotel hot bar fare but all very good, fresh and tasty. The lady manning the breakfast area was friendly and helpful. If I was in town for an extended stay with family would not hesitate to stay here. Just south of all the grand strand attraction (Short walking distance.)

Room Tip: they have buildings on both sides of the road so if you want ocean from need to request. No idea wha...

Truly a great hotel. Everything I wanted at a great price. Outdoor and Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Gym, Business Center, Free Breakfast, Free Wifi, Kitchenette and just down the road from all the fun. The room was great and I had a view of the beach from my terrace. Employees were super friendly (true southern hospitality).

Room Tip: Pick the ocean front with 2 two rooms and ask for an upper floor for a great view.

My brother and law and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western while we were there for the 2012 marathon. This was our 3rd year at the event, at a different hotel each time, and this was the best one so far. We had a 1st floor beach front unit and were pleasantly surprised by everything about the room which included a kitchenette with full size fridge. I'm always wary of carpeted hotel room floors, especially with all of the bed bug news, and was happy with the fact the the entire room was tiled. Our rates were discounted some as part of a deal offered to the runners but even the non-discounted rate wasn't bad; probably higher during the peak season I'm sure. The only downside of this hotel was that the check-in and breakfast restaurant are in the building across the street from the oceanside rooms (where we stayed). Not a big issue for us and getting across the road was easy.

What can be said? This was the best hotel we have ever stayed overnight! Before we arrived, Madison, was so very helpful over the phone in getting us reserved and directions. As we got to Myrtle Beach, she had John meet us to show us where to park, as we have a large truck/trailer, and got it parked in a secure lot they own. He walked us over to get checked in and helped us with luggage to our room. Our room was wonderful, we liked it so much we are already planning on a vacation back to relax. Upon entering through a secure door, we had a sitting room w/tv, small kitchenette w/full bath, and a queen bed w/tv and a magnificent veiw of the ocean! Our own private deck, leads onto another private deck that leads to a path to the ocean between sea oats. Our bed and pillows were so comfortable. Everything was so very clean and exceptional. Our breakfast was the best we've had at any hotel, and the employees were exceptional! Will recommend and stay again, thank you for such a great overnight experience!
