We were supposed to stay with a friend in Greenville, SC, but her house flooded! We all decided to meet at Myrtle Beach. I wasn't able to find a reasonable beachfront rate with such late notice until I called BWPlus. All of the other places offered cheaper rates for rooms across the street and farther from the beach. I was happy to have a room right on the water. Even though breakfast was across the street at the main building, I didn't mind...it was great!

Close enough but far enough from the boardwalk and the activities. Close to the outlets and the airport. Room was way nicer inside than by the looks of the outside. Outside it looks like a nicer motel but the inside certainly looks more upscale and clean.

Very clean and very professional staff, great service! Room was clean, full of amenities. Internet worked with easy password given at checkout. Definitely check out the breakfast...both hot and cold selections, one of the best we've seen.

Very nice. Room was very clean and nicely updated. Our oceanfront room was a king on 1st level. Stove, fridge, microwave, and the room was surprisingly quiet. Unfortunately for the BW, the nasty Viking motel sits next to it. Only reason for the 4. Would stay here again though, I do recommend. Access to room is on the inside which helps with the noise. Staff very nice and helpful.

I selected this hotel because I was looking for a Best Western and beach front. It's rather strange because the hotel has two parts. There's a 6 story building next to the ocean with all balconies and beach views, but you check in across the street at the main part of the hotel. Obviously these rooms were more expensive, but if you had kids they could sleep on the sofa bed. We had a 1 bedroom with a small kitchen and bathroom on a hallway to the living room. Sliding door went out to the balcony with a terrific view. We only stayed one night, but I would love to go back. Our building also had a pool which we didn't use. Hot breakfast at the main building was very good. It started raining as soon as we got to our room that evening, but sitting on the balcony watching the storm move out across the ocean was awesome. Early morning walk along the beach in the next morning was something I could get use to. The lifeguards were just getting their areas set up. Beautiful morning and a nice hotel.

Room Tip: WE were on the fourth floor at the end of the hall. Don't remember for sure, but the room was 24...

Green Features: The usual, but we were only there for one night so didn't matter much. They do recycle and provide trashcans for the recycling.

This is a 1960's era motel. There are many of this era in the surrounding Myrtle Beach area. The Best Western Plus is much better maintained than others. We stayed in the main building, across the street from the beach. There were a few minor problems encountered in our room. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the staff arrived to fix each issue once alerted.

Our room was a standard two queen bed room. The room was clean, had a decent sized refrigerator, TV, microwave. The bathroom is a bit small. I prefer rooms with a sink outside of the bathroom.

Breakfast each day alternated between two menus - either eggs/sausage/potatoes/cinnamon rolls, or eggs/sausage/biscuits/french toast sticks. The breakfast area can get very crowded after 8am or so. They also have outdoor seating on cooler days.

We did not use the pool, but it was well used by others. River pool is small but got lots of use.

I did use the small fitness center. Fine for an abbreviated workout - treadmill, bike, elliptical, and a combo weight machine. Not much, but being at the beach, I got in other exercise activities.

Only complaints are minor - they are stingy with the bathroom supplies - had to go ask for TP twice, and the shampoo, etc. did not get stocked more than once during the week. Seems a limited way to cut costs

They did offer pools towels when requested at the front desk.

This area is very family oriented. Lots of families with children, plus some couples. Nearby beach is wide and not overly crowded. A good place to stay.

I'm giving it 4 stars based on the overall value. Price was competitive and the property was well maintained. There is a brand new Hampton Inn across the street, but at a significantly higher price. The Best Western Plus fit the bill.

Helpful and responsive staff, clean rooms and pool. Very nice breakfasts. Hotel is split across the street, ocean view on one side, pool, registration and breakfast the other side. Easy to access, but traveling with a disabled person, I might have chosen a hotel with everything in one space had I realized. Otherwise, an excellent stay!
