I recently wrote a very unfavorable review of this property which I have since had removed. This review will summarize the problems and the resolution that was ultimately arrived at.

When we arrived in September, we had specifically requested room 601 in the Savoy bldg. There were a number of problems associated with this Penthouse suite that were initially being ignored by the staff and which prompted my low rating.

However, once the general manager became involved these problems were addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner. He took the time to meet with me personally and patiently allowed me to share my frustration over the accommodations. He had all of the physical damages cared for, as well as our house keeping issues. He turned a potential lost customer into one who can, once again, recommend this resort.

We returned for our annual Fall golf trip to Myrtle Beach staying at the Long Bay Resort. Everything was organized by Golf Director Barry Field. Barry does a great job juggling our last minute requests and was a terrific host at the weekly golf social that we attended. Top notch service all around combined with the terrific amenities offered at Long Bay made this a wonderful experience for me and my golf group from Pittsburgh. We will not hesitate to return to Long Bay next year.

Wow!!!! What a great experience by the time we arrived we were well greeted and welcomed the service was top shelf and Amanda was very helpful in getting our rooms ready. With a group of 16 Amanda was very professional and prompt. The golf department was extremely helpful in suggestion alternate courses that we could play. Hats are to Barry and his staff.

This is the first place in quite a while that made us definitely want to return. We generally visit MB twice a year, primarily for shopping and restaurants. The last few places we stayed, while generally decent, left much to be desired in some areas. For instance, the Caravelle had a great free breakfast but a shoddy room that needed extensive rehabilitation. The buffet breakfast at Long Bay was about $9.00--too much to pay for the little bit of food we eat. The maid was very nice and efficient and she maintained the room well. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. Hotel staff were efficient and pleasant. We did not use the pool or lazy river but we noted the area was well-maintained and well-used by both adults and children. So long as the hotel continues continues to offer off-season specials we will probably return next year. WSe give it a definite 4 stars.

This was our second year in a row already booked for a third. The resort was very clean, the staff was very helpful, the beach is right out the window. We work in the tourist industry, and know what to look for in hotel quality, Long bay is making it so easy to book year after year.

13th Year in a row taking a group of buddies to the beach for a few days of golf. We worked with Barry Field at Long Bay Resort and he was outstanding. Sarah Everett was also very helpful. The hotel was in great shape, I highly recommend the 3 bedroom ocean front rooms, their breakfast buffet was also just wonderful!!!

Room Tip: The Oceanfront 3 bedroom rooms are just great!!!

Took my grandaughter for the long weekend to meet some friends here, had a good time.
Room was clean and it had all you needed. Short of food that is. If your kids like water, this is great. Inside pool, outside pool and lazy river are heated. There were at least 4 hot tubs, a small child water area separate from the bigger kids and adults. There is also an adult sun deck too.

Room Tip: Get a room with a ocean view and higher than the 6th floor. If there are more than 4 of you, spring...
