“Nice older style golf club”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2013

Played Possum Trot on the last day of the year 2012. Winter fee was reasonable and the course was in good condition. Great practice range, putting and chipping area to warm up on. Freindly staff. We have a tradition of playing on the last day of the year and Myrtle Beach offers a good # of courses to choose from.

“Good Course, Staff and Price --- Love the name!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2012

This course was really close to where we stayed and green fee was reasonable. The staff greeted us at arrival, loaded up our cart and we were off. It has a tropical feel with lots of palm trees. The course is in good condition and was not busy. We finished our round in less than 4 hours and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend golfing here.

“Nice course for the money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2012

Played here during a five day golf vacation at the nearby Barefoot Landing area. The staff were friendly, prices very reasonable both for the golf fees and at the clubhouse pro shop. Some places try to gouge you but here everything was affordable.

Conditions on the course were less than perfect when we played, mainly because we came during a week of rainy weather so the course was very wet. Cart path only for the carts was in effect, and there were several areas that were a bit mucky. But the course layout was nice, greens were in tip top shape, and you never felt rushed.

Located at the end of a side street in North Myrtle Beach, just off US-17, this place is very easy to get to.

“I enjoyed playing this course!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2012

I was thinking about the many places around the country where having this public course in the area would be considered a real plus, but how in Myrtle Beach, the abundance of REALLY great courses makes this one just sort of so-so.

The course is challenging from the back tees, though the greens are not the most difficult around. I liked all of the trees, and the fact that not every hole is ringed by houses and condos (as happens in many resort area courses). I also think the service is great, and applaud the management for providing a total golf experience on site (what with lessons from an accomplished pro, etc.).

I will play here again, though not likely in any of the summer months as it is hot and humid on the course most of the day during these months
