“Wonderful Hotel, Courteous Staff, Safe, Don't beleive the negative reviews”

My wife and I visited Compass Cove for our honeymoon (we stayed in room 1267). Check in was quick and front desk staff very knowledgable. When we first got to the room it was late so we were going down to the Crow's Nest bar for a few drinks and some food. My wife used the bathroom and when she flushed, water came out of the back of the toilet, called down to front desk and advised of problem. Before we could even get down to the elevator the maintenance man was already knocking on the door (less than 3 minutes). Other than that the room was WONDERFUL, oceanfront, free safe lock for valuables, flat screen tvs, clean, and a decent sized balcony with great view. Bar food/drinks were great (chicken philly is well worth the money). Crow's Nest has something going on almost every night. Tiki bar was very convenient, both bars have walk up access from the beach. We were extremely happy with the service we received from Taylor, one of the bartenders, he was very knowledgable and polite. Buy the souvenier cup and you get free soft drinks and $5 daquiris every day. The Compass Rose has great food and we received great service from a girl named Jennifer. Just make sure you order the buffet, ordering a la carte gets a little pricey. Pools, hot tubs, and other water attractions were always clean and well stocked with towels. All beds were clean and extremely comfortable. I read reviews of some hotels that compalin about slow elevators, this is not a problem here. Never had a problem with parking for the Pinnalce biulding, we parked in the lot on the hotel side every day but the first night because we got there late, but we pulled right up to the door and unloaded our stuff on to one of the carts that were waiting. We went out multiple times in the evenings and always came back and found good parking in the hotel side lot. All the exterior doors to the hotel except the front desk require a key card for entry (even the parking lot across the street) so it feels very safe. We were not able to use the Wi-Fi in the room but it worked perfectly down by the Compass Rose and the front desk, this was not too much of a problem because the only time we used it was to get directions and we just took it with us.

A friend who is a travel agent recommended Compass Cove to my wife who was planning a senior class trip. I went along as a chaperone. We stayed at the Mariner in a 3 bedroom condo on the eighth floor.

The condo was comfortable, clean and kitchen adequately equipped. Room service changed the towels daily. We had a view of the ocean from the balcony even though it was not directly facing the ocean. I had good signal from the wi-fi in the condo. The signal was unstable at times while I was sitting in the balcony. Signal quality is location dependent. Probably best if the location is above the rest of the buildings in the complex. One of the pools was closed the day after we arrived because of "water quality", the next day the pool was partially drained and refilled. I took this as a positive sign the facility was interested in maintaining the pools properly. The property was well maintained overall and nicely landscaped. Beach access was easy. The teenagers enjoyed the pools and spent almost every night after dinner in the lazy river. Can't comment about the food since we did not eat there.

We got a great price because we stayed the week before Memorial Day during the off season. There was plenty of parking and very little noise even though there were plenty of guests in the facility. We did not hear the people in the next condo and I am sure vice versa. (The teens did have the TV up a few times).

We had a positive experience throughout the week. The person who checked us in was friendly and helpful. My wife and I would like to bring our family for vacation in the near future. There was a "bike week" beginning the day before we left. Bikers riding sports bikes began arriving 1-2 days before so the noise level and traffic started to increase before the event began. The riders would cruise up and down Ocean Boulevard in groups pretty much all day. Police presence increased accordingly; one of our teens spoke with a biker who said the police ticketed another biker for going 2 mph over the 25 mile speed limit :) Keep this in mind as you plan your visit.

First of all we get to the hotel and everything seems perfect. Unpack take kids to the beach, come back and go to potty and get toilet water dripping on my head and it had dripped on my stuff and all of our towels. This was not a small leak from the toilet above it was a pretty good leak, the towels were soaking wet. Called the front desk and they said they couldn't fix it right away, so for our trouble they would give us a upgrade room or suite so we said great and starting packing our stuff and they called back 5 minutes later and told us that all suites and upgrades were sold out we could move to the room next door, which would have been fine had that been true. So I went to get online to see if that was true and I couldn't cause the free wi-fi was down and had been down all day. So I went to the parking lot and got online with another hotel and found that there were pleanty of suites and upgrade rooms avail. for the entire stay. So I went to the office and ask to speak to the manger who was Tom Rice and I showed him my laptop that showed the avail. rooms and he said the website must be wrong, their own website was wrong, which I guess meant someone could book a room and get there and it not be avail. Hmmm. So at that time Tom got an attitude, so I asked for a refund and he gave it to me and we took our 4 night stay somewhere else. This was the worst thing that has happed to us on vacation have to pack up our stuff and my 15 month old and 5 year old at 9 pm and drive around to find another hotel that respected its customers. I think had there been a different manager things wouldn't have went so wrong.

We just got home from Compass Cove and what a great time we had there. It was our first visit we took our little grandaughter and she had a blast. So many pools and two great lazy rivers, we were never short of something to do. Our only problem was we didn't have long enough to take advantage of all the amenities. We will most defenitly be back. The staff were so friendly and house keeping were great. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed there. So hats up to you guys what a great place you have!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Compass Cove. The rooms were clean and very convenient to the beach. All of the pools and the new slides were great.

Stayed here between 5/7 and 5/14 of 2010. Excellent hotel and good service. Rooms were clean. Wireless was a little spotty on the 10th floor. We appear to have been upgraded to a larger room for free. Plenty of beach front, more pools and water activities than you can count. Crow's nest is a good place to have some grill type food and drinks with live entertainment or karaoke.
