I had never been to this unique restaurant, and have only since found out it was a chain. What a find! I took my daughter and her friend here on April 23, at about 1:30 in the afternoon. We opened the door only to be greeted by a very apologetic man, who told us that they did not open on weekdays until 5. We were so sad as we were on vacation and wouldn't have a chance to come back. He then said that he would be happy to serve us the chocolate fondue, after I told him it was my daughter's birthday. We were delighted for the opportunity. We chose the s'mores fondue, which is brought out in a pot and heated right on the hot plate built into the table. After our friendly waiter stirred it up, he added the graham cracker crumbs and lit the whole thing on fire. What a sight, and what chocolatey smells! He brought out all the fruits and desserts for dipping, divided into three plates for our dipping pleasure. We ate every delectable morsel, and then were offered more by an older gentleman who offered us more to dip. This particular gentleman seemed to me to be the manager, and was equally friendly and welcoming. He brought my daughter a huge chocolate covered strawberry with a lit candle for her birthday. When it was time to leave and we were happily full, he brought over a gift box of 6 dark, white and milk chocolate covered strawberries as a special thanks for coming in. This hospitality puts this restaurant at the very top of my list, and I can't wait to go back someday for their main meat and cheese fondues. Bravo to The Melting Pot in Myrtle Beach!
