I had never been to this unique restaurant, and have only since found out it was a chain. What a find! I took my daughter and her friend here on April 23, at about 1:30 in the afternoon. We opened the door only to be greeted by a very apologetic man, who told us that they did not open on weekdays until 5. We were so sad as we were on vacation and wouldn't have a chance to come back. He then said that he would be happy to serve us the chocolate fondue, after I told him it was my daughter's birthday. We were delighted for the opportunity. We chose the s'mores fondue, which is brought out in a pot and heated right on the hot plate built into the table. After our friendly waiter stirred it up, he added the graham cracker crumbs and lit the whole thing on fire. What a sight, and what chocolatey smells! He brought out all the fruits and desserts for dipping, divided into three plates for our dipping pleasure. We ate every delectable morsel, and then were offered more by an older gentleman who offered us more to dip. This particular gentleman seemed to me to be the manager, and was equally friendly and welcoming. He brought my daughter a huge chocolate covered strawberry with a lit candle for her birthday. When it was time to leave and we were happily full, he brought over a gift box of 6 dark, white and milk chocolate covered strawberries as a special thanks for coming in. This hospitality puts this restaurant at the very top of my list, and I can't wait to go back someday for their main meat and cheese fondues. Bravo to The Melting Pot in Myrtle Beach!

Overall we enjoyed the food and service. We have been to other Melting Pots so we knew what to expect. We had a reservation for 8:30. It was pretty quiet then, but we were stuck in a side corner area and that lost some of the ambiance. Our server was good, but even though she said to take our time, we felt rushed. The food was good and overall the experience good. Tip for families: you do not have to order a potion for everyone. Our daughter is twelve and does not each much. We shared a meal for two with her and it worked out just right portion wise.

just returned from an awesome meal at the melting pot. call for a reservTion and they provided us with a very private table round back as requested. our server was Tommy and he was everything an excellent server should be warm and knowledgeable about the menu. ask for his advise on cheese and desert choices and he was dead on. there was two of us and we enjoyed the spinach cheese dip with a melting pot and California salad, we shared the palmeno entre which included lobster tail, chicken, filet minon, pork tenderloin and shrimps.......excellent.......we wanted the hot oil to cook it in but unfortunately they ran out so it have us an opportunity to try the beef stock instead, another awesome choice. I ordered a chocolate turtle fondue for desert. great eating experience with amazing service, even the manager came out to apologize about the oil and check that all was ok for us.....we would go back for the service alone...the awesome meal is a bonus......Thanks Tommy for a lovely evening out for me and my hubby
Cheers

If you are looking for something other than the standard fare, the Melting Pot provides just that. As a national chain, one tends to worry about complacency, but it was not the case.

We were seated as soon as we arrived (6:30 ish) even though it was an impromptu choice and we had no reservation. The drinks were generous and properly mixed. Our server was courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. Since we had eaten at other Melting Pots before, I asked him to dispense with the normal intro and just provide us with any variances, which she gladly did.

All of the courses were excellent and the amount of food provided is more than adequate (We actually took the desert selections home.).

Overall, a relaxed atmosphere with excellent fondue broths and cheeses, and a good number of menu choices make this a great choice for any occasion or just a change of pace.
