We've stayed at the Wind Surfer twice during the summer--once in 2006, and once this year 2008. It was clean and acceptable both times. It's nothing fancy, and it is an older hotel, but who cares? It serves its purpose well-- it's right on the beach, in the middle of everything, and cost less than most hotels in the area.
The Wind Surfer gets an average rating only because we are comparing it to the newer hotels in the area with more frills. It could stand some interior updating, although nothing was actually worn out or broken.
We had only two complaints during both our stays: they didn't serve any type of breakfast, and there weren't enough utensils to cook our own food. Our room had a microwave, fridge, stove, and a full size coffee pot, but not enough supplies to actually cook anything. If you only need a hotel room for showering, light cooking, and a place to lay your head as we did, then give it a try.More
