“Overall a nice place to stay.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2009

We stayed at the SeaWatch in a 3 bedroom villa. We have stayed in several timeshares in various places and the customer service at the SeaWatch was excellent. The accomodations were decent. Villa 3 is the last building to be updated in which we were told would happen next year. However it was still nice. There were a few little things that it would have been nice if they were updated but who is going to let that ruin a vacation. The unit was spacious and provided all the amenities you need.
We had an oceanfront unit on the 6th floor. The view was amazing. Please realize though that there are two tower building on either side of the villa units that block the sun in the mornings and afternoons.
The grounds are nicely kept and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
A few negatives were the gym. The two towers that are located on either side of the villas are owned condos and the gym is in one of those buildings. So if you are staying in a villa building you will have to pay to use the gym. I opted for long walks on the beach, after all you are oceanfront!
There was free wireless in the rooms however it was painfully slow. Slower than dial-up! You can go to the lobby where it is much faster and they do have computers you can use so you don't have to bring one if you don't want to.
Pets are allowed only in the two tower buildings.
The only downside to the whole trip was we attended the "90 minute" presentation. If you want to purchase a time share then by all means attend it, but if you don't it is not worth the "gifts" they offer.
Overall it was a wonderful time. We had 4 teens with us and they had a blast. With 5 pools, several hot tubs, 2 lazy rivers and miles of beach they had a good time. There are activities but not really teenager friendly.
I would recommend going to the SeaWatch unless you are one fo those super picky, can not be pleased sort of people. Of course if you are one of them it probably won't matter where you go!

We stayed at Seawatch Plantation for four-day Memorial Day weekend. It was supposed to be a trip for just our family of four but we invited a friend (who we were going to put on the couch, who in turn invited her neice). We were a little worried about sleeping arrangements but was pleasantly surprised to find that the second bedroom was equipped with two queen beds so all six people were very comfortable. We had a king size bed in our master bedroom. There were two full baths, fully equipped kitchen, small dining area and a living room with balcony overlooking the pools. The suite was perfectly clean and well stocked. We were able to cook many meals that saved us a lot of money. Super Walmart is just 5 minutes away.

The whole resort was just perfect with the beach being an elevator ride away. Several pools and hot tubs so you can always find a peaceful spot. Only complaint would be that the lazy pool was not cleaned often enough so there are lots of dead bugs which made it hard to enjoy. Also, be careful when walking around in the morning. There are baby frogs EVERYWHERE!!! They are really cute and my kids got a kick out of them but I can see how they might gross some people out.

Another thing to note is that Seawatch Plantation is in North Myrtle Beach. We loved the location because it was very family friendly and the beaches were not crowded at all (especially considering our time of stay). Even driving around our area was easy, but the closer you get to Myrtle Beach the more crowded it'll get. That was a pain, traffic was horrible! We were grateful for our location in the quieter part of town.

A little difficult to navigate through all of the property at first, but then you get an idea where all of the different buildings are. Very large parking garage, with security on site. Room was very clean, well kept. I stayed in the South Tower, Ocean Front. Resort is off of the main highway, so you do not get all of the traffic noise. I had the Fall Special that included Breakfast each day, breakfast bar was delicious and they have a person that will cook omelets or waffles for you. The serve a pot of coffee and a container of orange juice to each table. Housekeeping staff was very courteous and did a great job. Everyone at Seawatch tries to make your stay very enjoyable.

We booked a one bedroom room through the Wyndham website, stating we would have a king sized bed, and jacuzzi tub (due to my allergy to hot tub chemicals). We arrived to a very clean room with an ocean view balcony... and no jacuzzi. Wyndhams hotel staff was very cordial in letting us know they have no rooms with jacuzzi tubs at this property. Wyndham's reservations customer however bounced us around for hours, until the next day the property manager got someone on the phone, who did give us half of our cost back. The bathroom was very small. The resteraunt is not owned by Wyndham so you can not charge anything to your room. The exercise room is also private and you must pay a fee to use it. You are provided one extra trash bag, and three dishwasher detergents, a small bottle of shampoo and conditioner and anything else you may need will need will cost you extra. When we made the reservation, the reciept said our room was charged in full, but they actually charged it at the resort, which was also a little confusing. The beach was breathtaking and there is plenty to do around the area, all in all it was a comfortable stay, jutst not what we expected from our reservation

We are family of four (two kids 16 and 4) stayed at Seawatch for one week in July. We have rented 2-bdrm unit directly from the owner (vrbo) and overall had great vacation. The unit itself was perfect, clean, enough room, had everything we needed. The location of the resort is also great (at least for our taste), it’s slightly away from the central part of the Myrtle Beach but very close to the restaurant row and Barefoot Landing (the car is still necessary).
I can agree with some reviewers that hallways and doors can be better but how much does it really affect vacation experience? The grounds are taken care of, all seven pools and 5 tubs (could be more ) are being cleaned daily. Good restaurant, coffee shop and tiki bar are on premises.
Beach is AMAZING! I would recommend this place to anybody.

This location has good potential. However, our room had mold, I had to call to get smelly trash removed from hall, and the front parking area absolutely reeked of garbage so badly that you could hardly stand to walk from your car to the building. If staff would become a bit more attentive to detail, check on you during your stay, and clean up, it would be a great place. You can't beat the view and the pools. In this day and age, customer service and taking carie of the small things that make such a big difference will keep you in business!

Seawatch is our home resort with our Wyndham timeshare. We went back this year after an absence of about 3-4 years because we wanted to stay at different resorts. Well, needless to say we were a little disappointed at the up keep of this resort as we are used to much, much better. When we first bought at SEAWATCH it was a very beautiful resort, of course that's why we bought. Upon returning this year we were disappointed with the way it was looking. Hallways always had uncollected trash in them. Rooms were clean, however, a lot of the appliances were falling apart, or not working (ex. two of the burners on the stove did not work, washing machine extremely noisy). The first thing we were disappointed with is that we did not get the unit we usually got after 10 years of getting the same unit. Our unit this year was a lot smaller even though it was a 3 bdrm lockoff. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the balconies this year, but would rather of had a larger unit to move around in, we felt a little cramped. The master bedroom and bath were extremely small, the shower barely big enough for a toddler. Seawatch and Wyndam would do well to take the high maintainence fees that I am paying and spend some of it to update the furnishing and appliances in the units in the North Tower. Will try out Ocean Blvd next year, hoping it is better. Overall though we had a pretty good vacation. Loved the beach and pools at Seawatch.
