This place is unique, located behind a gun shop and shooting range, it offers a unique look at camp life during the civil war. It is a must if you are interested in the civil war and history.

Went there and called he number that was on the door. The lady said the man that runs it has retired and is selling off the pieces to different museums.

We stopped by the South Carolina Civil War Museum in the past week and were disappointed to see that it is closed. The sign on the door says that is has relocated, but there was no new address listed. Google and the museum's website does not list a new address.

I like finding private and smaller town museums, and this one was a jewel. A private collection of guns, clothing, civil was tents and artifacts, including some of the items found on a ship that was scuttled, and just recently found by the owner of the museum. Very worth while stop to spend a couple hours viewing and reading the history. After viewing the museum, the shop also specializes in black powder and antique gun sales.
