“Not disappointed rm. 1014”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

I was extremely reluctant to stay here after reading the horrid reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. First of all if you're looking for a 4 or 5-star hotel then this is not the one for you. We stayed in room 1014 which, though a bit cramped, was nicely decorated and clean (even the shower curtain was clean which is important). We had breakfast in the restaurant downstairs which was surprisingly extremely tastey and very cheap. Despite all of the stories about the staff being rude and unfriendly I found everyone to be pleasant as well as welcoming. The only downside is that the strip is loud. The 11 o'clock fireworks (which went off sporadically throughout the night) woke up my 1 year old, which was very frustrating. Overall the beach is nice, the sand is clean and the water is warm. I would not stay here - or anywhere on the strip for that matter - with young children as it is way too loud.

The room was dirty , floors were not vacuumed, no kitchen towels provided, no toilet paper, missing pillows, blankets dirty, toilet wobbled and smelled, there was no plug for the tub, leaking kitchen sink, in the kitchen not enough dishes and all mismatched like leftovers from a yard sale, no batteries in remote control for TV, overall just bad experience.

The Bluewater is made up of over 200 units, each individually owned. Each of these has the right to chose how they will rent their unt; either on their own or though any of the management companies on the beach. We are the on site rental management company and manage only 100 of these units.
Many units on our program are nicely maintained and appointed. Without knowing which unit this comment refers to, their is no way to respond directly about the comments.
We are working very hard to insure that the units we manage, are clean and well maintained.

Stayed in unit 602 for a week in end of June on our honeymoon. Had an amazing time there and cannot speak highly enough about this place! When we arrived we were impressed that the place was spotless and yet so welcoming. Lots of attention had been paid to small details like the way the beds were made up (so comfortable, by the way!) and the welcome note left by the owners Cal & Issy. We really appreciated the extensive information they also provided in a binder and in helpful spots around the unit -- let us know about how to work any of the appliances, tips for making the most out of the stay, good places to eat, etc. The unit is very well maintained and feels like a home away from home. Really loved the beachy decor! Speaking of which, we had a fantastic time lazing on the beach with fishbowl margaritas from the on-site bar (which also offered great bar food, discounted during the extended happy hour). The beach was clean, life-guarded from 9 to 5, and not very crowded even on the weekend. We did get quite the downpour one evening, but took the opportunity to sit out on the balcony with a bottle (or two!) of wine and enjoy the light show -- had never seen lightning strike the ocean before, but it is quite an awesome thing to behold! The area was very family friendly with lots of activities and places to eat, but we mostly stuck to the beach and unit. There were just the two of us staying there, but the place could easily accommodate 6-8 people I would say. I did get the sense that the units vary since they are owned by different people (judging by other reviews), but unit 602 was fantastic! Will definitely be back again soon, hopefully with friends or family.

Room Tip: Units vary. Stayed in 602 and loved it!

We stayed at this resort, room 201-b. We arrived yesterday 7/19 at 4pm, we were greeted at the front desk by Iris whom was very nice and helpful. When we got to our room the trouble started. This is the list of deficiencies we have experienced after only the first night;
• room was dirty
• bathroom had hair on the wall and in the tub
• Sand on the floor
• sand in the bed
• very noisy, I was kept awake until after 2am from traffic and street noise
• safe doesn't work
• pool has bugs all over it
• the inside hot tub smells like bleach and makes your lungs hurt from the fumes
• the spare pillows don't have pillow cases and are dirty
• comforter is stained
• the front desk doesn't answer when you call them from the room
• To top it all off security woke us up at 7:30am to tell us there was a towel on our balcony, so much for sleeping in on my vacation.
I am not the type of person to complain normally, but this is one of the worst resort experiences I've ever encountered. I realize that they have just recently taken this place over, but there is no excuse for this sort of nonsense. I travel quite a bit, once or twice a month and I don't recall a time when I saw this sort of blatant disregard for guests' comfort.
Despite the assurance of the director of operations, Jim Rand, none of the issues were resolved, in fact my stay got worse. There is nothing in the paperwork I received at check in nor in the room about towels on the balcony, and even if there was waking a gust up at 7:30am is not the appropriate response. Mr. Rand refused to make up for any of these issues and instead passed the buck and ignored the problem.
Also noteworthy is the location, it is in a terrible area. The website's pictures are of the sky wheel and the boardwalk are flat out lies, those are four miles away, in reality you are in the hood. Our cab driver warned us not to venture outside after dark. I now know why, drug dealers and prostitutes were everywhere, the police were parked across the street all night to monitor the situation. As soon as the police left on Sunday night, a bunch of hoods started blowing off fireworks. Another good nights sleep... LOL.
In summation I have never been so happy to leave a place.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

As an explaination to these remarks I need to address the controls at the Bluewater. This unit is across the street from the ocean as as such faces Ocean Blvd where street traffic runs all night. Secondly, the rental managment has no control on any policies related to the property. The Bluewater HOA has full responsibility for anything outside of the units front door.
The Rental office has hours of operation like all other rental management businesses. After hours calls can be sent to an emergency number for aid. If there is no emergency, we will provide service the following day. We provide this information to all during registration.
Although the cleaning service is a contract service, we respond to all issues when they are brought to our attention. When this was brought up, we responded quickly.
This is not a hotel where all control is in one hand. This is an oceanfront condo project where each unit is privately owned and common areas directed by the Home Owner Association.

Fantastic family vacation in very nice condo unit 720. Very clean unit and building , kids loved all the pools and the oceanfront bar was great. We will be back again. Owner was very responsive to all questions we had and made entire process flawless. 15th oceanfront bar was great way to end a day on the beach. Lots of oceanfront activities and music was great. Kids loved chicken tender baskets. Overall great time with family.

Whatever you do, don't rent this unit. Not only is it outdated it us filthy. When we arrived my boyfriend and I spent over two hours cleaning the place. The cleaning staff should be fired. The eyes if the stove had old dried up grease down inside. The top of the refrigerator was so dirty, I stopped cleaning. The baseboards had mounds of dust on them. Since it was so dirty we decided to wash the bedspeads and blankets, which means we had to buy detergent and go to the laundry mat all while we were supposed to be enjoying our vacation. Outside the unit the carpet hadn't been cleaned or vaccumed in about two weeks. The balcony had old cigarette butts and the chairs had to be wiped down before we could sit down due to old dirt.

On a lighter note, the pools were clean and around the pool area was clean. I will never stay here again. Last but not least, Condolux will be refunding half of one night stay since we had to clean up before we could put our things down.

This unit is not part of the on site rental management. Condolux is an outside company that manages units here and along the beach. In the future, please use the on site company for better service
