Overall Island Vista is highly recommended. We have been to MB five times and this was by far the nicest and cleanest place we have stayed. It was not he cheapest, but it is priced fair for what you receive. The resort is set off by itself and literally has houses on either side of it so the resort has its own beach that is not crowded at all. Further down the strip there were huge crowds, It is within a 7 minute drive, maybe less, south to Broadway at the Beach, and North Myrtle Beach is not that far north, also maybe 7 minutes. It is positioned perfectly. We had two small kids 7 and 11 and they enjoyed the indoor pools and lazy river. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub also. The indoor pools do not have any slides and are not decorated with bright primary colors like a kids play area, but it is nice. The outdoor pool has a hut that serves drinks and lunch. The food was excellent, but the drinks were very expensive. I think all patios over look the beach and they are private in that you cannot see your neighbors. We stayed in a 3 bedroom and it was clean, not perfect but very clean and acceptable. The workers were nice. They do not have luggage carts that you can use so you have to wait on them to move your stuff up to your room. All the rooms are condos that are actually owned by others. Some were for sale. We were there in early June and it was not crowded, but was busier towards the end of our stay (June 5). The only issue we really had were smokers. People would smoke at the pool and laying out on the lawn. It says no smoking but it was not enforced. Kids activities were nice, could have been better organized but ok. They had one evening program with Hawaiin dancers. During the day they had people playing guitars along side the pool and they were really good. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Island vista with my 2 sisters and our 3 young children. We were celebrating our little sister's graduation. We had the best time. There is so much to do and there were many activities for the little ones. We had a very spacious 3 bedroom condo. We had everything that we needed and we didn't even have to leave the resort. This will definately be the only place we stay when we come to Myrtle Beach.

Have been going to Myrtle Beach on vacation several years.
Found that the Island Vista was a fantastic place to stay.
My first compliment goes to the girl at the front desk. She was extremely friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make you feel welcomed.
The entire staff and housekeeping were very friendly and after several years going to Myrtle Beach, we did not encounter one rude staff or housekeeping member.
The lobby was small but the rooms made up for the space.
The poolside service was awesome. You did not even need to get up for a drink or to order food for the little ones.
Our group consisted of four adults, two teenagers and two toddlers. Everyone stayed entertained.
The two band members that played live outside Friday night was entertaining and very enjoyable. To be able to sit and listen, get a drink and relax.
The only aspect we did not enjoy, which is just personal preference was the lounge chairs in the grass instead of on cement, which attracted ants.
Other than that great hotel.
By the way if you do want a lounge chair, get up early by at least 7 AM to put your beach towel on it, or you will not get one. Course we were there for the July 4 holiday week.

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary and the place was just as it is shown on the web site which is very unusal. I could not believe how beautiful Island Vista is. The staff was so kind and took care of whatever you needed right then. The place was clean everywhere Ex bathrooms, elevators, front lobby and the room were so lovely. I felt like l

We have stayed here numerous times in different rooms. Each room is well-appointed and spacious. All suites have full kitchens and plenty of seating areas. On this stay my mother and I had a scrapbooking weekend in a one bedroom suite. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean views from the tranquility of our deck and living room. The front desk is very courteous and helpful. I have never eaten at the restaurant, but they do offer gourmet pizzas to the room which are quite good. We also return each year as an extended family with my two children and rent a 3 bedroom suite which is quite luxurious. Each bedroom has its own bath and there is plenty of room for all of us to live for the week. The children love the lazy river and heated pools and sometimes there is great live music by the pools. I would highly recommend!!

We had a great time there. Although the weather didn't go our way, the stay was enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was outstanding. The wait staff there was friendly as can be.

We just returned home from a week long stay at Island Vista. My wife and I took my mother, our two daughters (16 and 11) and a family friend (18 year old boy). We stayed in a one bedroom suite, which sounds small, but it isn't. There was plenty of room. We have stayed in several different properties in Myrtle Beach and by far this was the best experience.

The room was outstanding. It was very clean and well appointed. The sofa bed was not very comfortable, but I have yet to see one that is. The murphy bed was fine and the two beds in the bedroom were great. The balcony was spacious and offered a great view of the ocean and the pool area.

Speaking of the pool area it is beautiful. Plenty of chairs and lounge chairs. It has a nice grassy area around the pool to sit and soak the sun or enjoy the shade of the palms.

The ocean area is very nice as well. Not nearly as crowded as most other areas around Myrtle Beach.

The staff was pleasant and helpful at all times. Parking was not an issue at all. The location is great. Although it is a large complex, it only has 149 units, so it never seems overly crowded even though it was booked to capacity when we were there. It is north of Myrtle Beach, but not in North Myrtle Beach. It is rather isolated. There are not the traffic problems like you see around downtown. There are still plenty of shops and restaraunts in the immediate area and you are a short drive from downtown if you want to go. I also really appreciated the free wireless internet.

The only negative I can mention would be the cost of the mixed drinks at the poolside bar. I think a pina colata was $8 and change. After the first day we bought the premix at the store and made our own. The price for food was reasonable and beer was about $3.

The manager of the property is very visible and is constantly asking guests how thier visit is going. He genuinely cares about the experience you have at the Island Vista.

It was a wonderful trip and a super place to stay. We will stay at the Island Vista the next time we go to Myrtle Beach!!
