Overall Island Vista is highly recommended. We have been to MB five times and this was by far the nicest and cleanest place we have stayed. It was not he cheapest, but it is priced fair for what you receive. The resort is set off by itself and literally has houses on either side of it so the resort has its own beach that is not crowded at all. Further down the strip there were huge crowds, It is within a 7 minute drive, maybe less, south to Broadway at the Beach, and North Myrtle Beach is not that far north, also maybe 7 minutes. It is positioned perfectly. We had two small kids 7 and 11 and they enjoyed the indoor pools and lazy river. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub also. The indoor pools do not have any slides and are not decorated with bright primary colors like a kids play area, but it is nice. The outdoor pool has a hut that serves drinks and lunch. The food was excellent, but the drinks were very expensive. I think all patios over look the beach and they are private in that you cannot see your neighbors. We stayed in a 3 bedroom and it was clean, not perfect but very clean and acceptable. The workers were nice. They do not have luggage carts that you can use so you have to wait on them to move your stuff up to your room. All the rooms are condos that are actually owned by others. Some were for sale. We were there in early June and it was not crowded, but was busier towards the end of our stay (June 5). The only issue we really had were smokers. People would smoke at the pool and laying out on the lawn. It says no smoking but it was not enforced. Kids activities were nice, could have been better organized but ok. They had one evening program with Hawaiin dancers. During the day they had people playing guitars along side the pool and they were really good. Highly recommended.
