We have not yet stayed at The Reef, but we have multiple parties coming in the same week (and also happens to be the busiest week of the year) and the customer service has been outstanding!

They've made every effort to help us with ALL of our requests. Getting rooms together, changing/adding days.

So far it has been a wonderful experience! I will post after the vacation and share our experience.

Great price and clean rooms! It is outdated but the price reflects that.. The staff was SUPER friendly and always accommodating. We stayed at the end of May so I was nervous that the pools would be too cold but the inside pool was heated and great!

Thank you for mentioning that the pools were comfortable for swimming in late May. Late May and also September to mid October is a lovely time to visit Myrtle Beach. We do not profess to be the newest hotel on the oceanfront, however, our staff takes great pride in providing clean, comfortable accommodations. We hope that you will return to the Reef soon.

Yes, I didn't know a lot about bikers week upon booking a weekend getaway at Myrtle beach. And I also by mistake booked the wrong size room. This is going to be a disaster, WRONG!! Upon arriving, Ed had my room corrected in seconds. The room actually looked newly remodeled. Very nice and all the appliances that I needed that I had forgotten when I booked my original room. Ok, parking is going to be a disaster because of Bike Week. Oh wait, we will shuttle you to your car and tomorrow you see me when you get back from supper and we will take care of you. He did!! The beaches and restaurants were empty. No waiting or crowding. This hotel really took care of us and made us feel like royalty instead of guest I have stayed here before. This is why I come back. Thanks Ed and all the rest of the staff for showing us what a quality hotel is all about. Even during Biker's Week.

Room was oceanfront, which all rooms are. It was our first time staying there. I would go back there again on our next trip. The room we were in it was laid out which was really nice for me since I get up before my husband does. The layout: The beds were the first as you go in. The you have a little kitchen and from there you go into a sitting room. The bedroom area and sitting room area had a TV.
I like to read until my husband gets up.

I stay here anytime I go to Myrtle Beach. Not the most fancy, but great location, nice rooms, great resterant and bar in the hotel if you don't want to leave the beach. Rooms are very nice and always clean. Every room has a great view. Pool area is awsome. Hotel is in the middle of everything.

My husband & I stayed at The Reef in March, 2013 and had a wonderful experience. When we arrived (I had booked online) we were not able to get into our room because of a defect with the door lock. However, the management put us in another room (that was an upgrade at no extra charge) and we were treated like celebrities! We went down to the restaurant (Mako's) and had drinks and ordered food to take back to our room. We opened the balcony and just enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing. How relaxing!! The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. Will definitely come back. Great Value!! Special Thank You to the staff!!!

Room Tip: The smoking rooms seem to have older A/C units, however all are comfortable with great views!! Good...

All rooms are oceanfront! You can't get a bad view!! We spent most of our indoor time with the balcony door open to get the sight and sound of soothing ocean waves. But the best part is that the ocean is mere steps away when you leave the room! And with huge pools (indoor and out) and two big hot tubs, there was plenty of water recreation for the whole group! Our 2-bdrm suite was just that - sweet!
