“In need of staff, new management and updating”

Wouldn't recommend for anything but a place to sleep. Never had such a bad experience at a Hilton property. Not enough staff and half of the staff that's there are rude and/or unprofessional - including the Manager. At check in, front desk clerk put through a charge on my debit card for a prepaid room, then insisted that it was "just an authorization" and implied it was my bank's fault. After several failed attempts by clerk, I asked to speak to the Manager. To my amazement, the Manager also told me I was mistaken - that the charge was just an "authorization". I had to insist that I wasn't crazy, it wasn't "an authorization" and there was a pending charge to my bank account. Two hours later, the Manager finally got the charge reversed and I had gotten a royal headache.
While the property itself is nice, the hotel is unkempt: wet/dirty floors on the first floor from the pool area into the elevators; second to fifth floor hallways were hot and sticky; housekeeping was scarce or non-existent - room never cleaned and I got clean towels once when I asked for them; the few housekeeping and engineering staff that were on duty were overworked and staff morale is very low (according to one staff person who bent over backward to help my family set up the meeting room we had booked for a family reunion dinner on Friday, June 27th); no ice machines working on any of the floors - some were disassembled in need of repair; breakfast wasn't that good, except for the waffles; and on and on.

Very disappointing for any hotel, especially a Hilton property. Was a huge disappointment for our family which booked eight or nine rooms for a family reunion.

Hampton Inn North Myrtle Beach - Harbourgate is a nice property but it is in dire need of additional and/or new staff and some much needed renovation. New management is definitely in order!

Room Tip: A few rooms had obstructed views but most were great.

Did not want to fix any issues all week. No ice machine in hotel was fixed all week. AC was not fixed all week and leaked water all over floor and no one wanted to help. Breakfast was out of a lot of products and kept getting told will come with next delivery???Never happened

Def would not book again. Hotel is in need of renovations (room was spacious but needs updating) halls were hot and smelly. Bed was comfy and I did sleep well. Breakfast was horrible: asked staff to wipe tanle they hand me a towel, no meat in gravy. We won't return

We have just finished a five night stay and are pleased to advise that we were relatively pleased with the inn, and very pleased with the standard of housekeeping - every request that we had was quickly honoured, right down to the maintenance man bringing ice to our room when the machine on the landing had broken down.
Our room was kept clean and well maintained.
Overall, reasonable value for money.

I tell you when they are great so I have to tell you when they are not. The place is not kept up very well. Our room was nice, comfortable bedding although a little worn. The place was pretty clean but it would have been easy to sparkle, it didn't do that. Chrome trim in bathroom had dried watermarks. Person who cleaned the room forgot to clean the bathroom vanity. Toothpaste gunk dried on the sink. Don't go to the workout area. It's a joke. Old equipment so noisy and no ventilation. Little things, half the light bulbs in front lobby chandeliers are burnt out and the dining area tables were nasty, from not being wiped off properly. I think you get the picture. Price was high along with 3 night stay minimum. Ridiculous. This place needs help.

If you just need a place to sleep, this hotel is ok but overpriced for what you get. The free breakfast is free for a reason...it isn't worth anything. The hotel should be in the $99-109 range for the quality of the staff and building quality.

Just back from a great week at the Hampton Harbourgate in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Had a great time. The beach is only about a mile away and it's a straight shot. The room was nice and cool and clean. Breakfast was great and Sharon M. was so great at keeping things filled and taking care of any special request. She was a true gem!! The indoor pool was nice and refreshing. The hotel is in a nice intersection so you can choose the main road (17) or jump on Hwy 9 or 90 goes to Conway and will take you to the Tanger Outlets without the traffic. We came in from I-95 on 9 exited at Dillon, SC so we didn't have to deal with all the traffic back ups. There is an Outback and a K&W Cafeteria less than a half mile away. You don't even have to get on 17 to get to it if you don't care too. There is a flea market and a Baskin Robbins just north and Calabash is only about 6 miles north.
