Owner description: Carolina native, Davis Love III embraces a tradition of Lowcountry character in his latest design. The Love course incorporates the recreated ruins of an old plantation home along holes 3-7. Wide open fairways and generous landing areas set the stage for an unforgettable round of golf. The Love Course at Barefoot Resort is a traditional course with a Lowcountry character and incorporates Davis Love, III's Carolina golfing experiences in the design. This visually striking course features course generous landing areas and greens complexes similar to those found on Pinehurst #2 at the 1999 U.S. Open. The Love Course is a Par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards. The course will challenge the good player, yet provide playability and enjoyment for the average player.Tee and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif-sport Bermuda grass. The greens surfaces are newly acquired Champion UltraDwarf and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass.

The Love course was nice and well maintained, but compared to the other courses at Barefoot it was our least favorite.

Not a bad place, but I would definitelt play the Fazio or Norman first.

Next to the Barefoot Dye course - we liked Love second best. It is in terrific shape (a bit soggy from over watering on a few holes) but the layout is nice and fun to play. We played later in the day and the usual crush at the Barefoot courses had eased by then. I would play here again.

This a very enjoyable golf course. Give credit to Davis Love for making this a fun experience, yet challenging in places. The design around the greens has a Pinehurst feel, bring your best short game to score. Playing three courses out of the single clubhouse and staging area makes it feel a bit crowded, but the staff seems to handle the large volume of play fairly well.

This one ranks just behind Fazio in the Barefoot hierarchy. The faux ruins are different and kind of fun. The 18th hole is very challenging. The freens roll true, but they can be very firm.
