Attraction details
Owner description: The Fazio Course at Barefoot Resort is routed through a spectacular piece of property in the heart of Barefoot Resort.Like many European courses, the course does not return to the clubhouse after nine holes. It is not a British linksland course, but rather a classic Lowcountry course, filled with live oaks, pines, sand, natural areas and native grasses.Located between the Dye Course and the Love Course, the Fazio course has been strategically designed, incorporating extensive tree cover and many lakes into the landscaping. Waste areas and formal bunkers have been handcrafted and placed for visual and strategic effect, while natural elevation changes add a sense of drama and excitement the to golfing round. Water features can be seen on 15 holes, yet many lakes are in out-of-play areas to ensure playability. The Fazio Course is a Par 71, approximately 6,834 yards long. The course will have four sets of tees to give players of all skill levels the opportunity to play a course of championship caliber and still have the right balance of fun and challenge.Tees and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif- Sport Bermuda grass and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass. The greens consist of a Champion UltraDwarf Grass.

The Fazio course was my favorite of the 4 Barefoot courses. We played in the afternoon, got out early, and finished in less than 4 hours. Layout was fantastic, greens were in great shape, staff and cart girls were excellent. Would highly recommend the Fazio course.

I played all 4 Barefoot courses and after the Dye course the Fazio was my favorite. I was lucky enough to be in the second group out in the morning, the group in front of me being a threesome of members. Never saw them after the first hole until we caught up with them on the 18th. Played in 3 hours and 20 minutes - golf as it should be - walk up to your ball and hit it. Easy to get into a rhythm. All aspects of the course were very well conditioned. Took us a while to find the second hole - generally the hole locations are well signed but for some reason the second wasn't.

Our group got off at least 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time. From the first shot from the first tee until the last shot into the 18th green we waited on every shot. Our round of golf ended up taking over 5 hours. When we mentioned the pace of play to one of the rangers nothing was done. For the price that we paid, we never expected to encounter this type of experience. I truly doubt if we will ever play any of the other Barefoot courses again because of this. As someone in our group said, "Are we having fun yet?".

Another one of three courses at the Barefoot resort. Very challenging specially the tee shots. A lot of trouble from the tee shot to the fairway. If you mishit the ball, its gone. Overall a nice course but very tough to play if you don't have much experience.

Our family golfed this course last year and liked it so much, we decided to do it again. My kids are 9 & 11 and this year they were free after 12pm. Nice extra this year!

Staff is always nice. We had a group of 5 playing together. I phoned into the club house due to slow play (very slow play) and with in 1 minute the ranger was there to assist. Very pleased with how it was handled.

Long course, nice greens and equipment.
