You have to go to BF if it's time to leave your hotel or rental. Good dinner options, shops for everyone to get something, and plenty of dessert options.

I always enjoy stopping here! The downside it parking can be difficult but there is additional parking around the different parts, which is nice! The shops are cute most are really unique, a few look like upper scale souvenir shops- meaning they will print Tshirts and have some of the same cheap stuff found at the tourist souvenir stores by the beach. Overall there are tons of stores that have very unique gifts in them! The fireworks were good, however if you don't plan on watching them be on the same side as your car is parked, before 10! They close the bridges and you are trapped. They only last about 15 minutes but by time they close the bridges and then reopen them it's 10:30! Even the bridge closest to the main road is closed! And it's nowhere near the fireworks nor can you even see them from there!!

Barefoot Landing basically combines an outdoor mall concept, with a boardwalk atmosphere and features long walking bridges across a portion of the Intercoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach. Plenty of Restaurants (try Umberto's for great Italian) and shopping opportunities. My wife spent a half an hour feeding the turtles (which was considerably cheaper than it would have been if she'd have been shopping that long!) Try and avoid the information booths which are thinly veiled show ticket sales pitches.

Overall excellent. Kids loved the fireworks at night. Plenty of rides and things for them to do. Only drawback was that it was pretty pricey for the rides, which you basically had to pay for separately and handsomely.

A nice variety of shopping, snacks and restaurants. Parking was a little hectic but once you found a spot and got into the area, it was not overly crowded.
