“Family Vacation”
Reviewed 22 June 2013

Our family of 7 gathered from 3 states to spend a week together in rental 402. The condo was very nice and clean with a beautiful ocean view, 3 full baths and a huge balcony that looks over the lazy river and ocean. The Crescent Shores building is relatively clean and in good condition. The elevators are a nightmare at check in, so if you can time it later you'd be better off. There is ample parking across the street in their garage. My biggest complaints about Crescent Shores come from the lack of supervision at the lazy river, pools and hot tub as well as the condition and lack of rule enforcement of the beach. The lazy river was impossible to use due to the children swimming in it, as was the hot tub. On several occasions we saw parents in the hot tub with infants. The rules clearly state for the lazy river that tubes must be used and that no one should be on the middle area and yet there were children jumping off this area into the 3' water. The rules also say no children in the hot tub and yet there they were swimming and slipping all over it. I know that the parents should be responsible for them following the rules but believe that the 'Pool Monitor' should be enforcing the rules for everyone's enjoyment. As for the beach, I love the feel of the sand between my feet, but the beach area in front of Crescent Shores is awful! The reason is because again the rules of aren't being enforced by either Crescent Shores or Myrtle Beach whomever is responsible. The tents aren't supposed to go up before 8 am, this would give the beach cleaners time to come by and get the bottle caps, cigarette butts, fireworks pieces and other trash up. Instead the people in front of the Crescent Shores buildings start marking their territory as early as 6 am and so the beach is never fully cleaned. It is truly sad when you don't want to walk through the sand because you don't know what you'll step on.

Room Tip: 402 is well maintained by the owners and is spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean.

this is the second review I have given this unit. It is still a great day value, but crescent shores was very crowded this time.we still had a great time even though we had to wait for the elevator some other time. Parking underneath is a challenge sometimes, but parking across the street is fine. We will definitely go again.

Here's a real review from an actual tenant--not an owner or one of their friends.

When we picked this place we didn't consider how tall the building was. That many floors means the beach in front will be extremely crowded. You could barely get through to the water with all of the umbrellas and tents. Also, a parasail and banana boat operaiton was using a good bit of the beach nearby for their operation which was a little annoying.

The parking here is a joke. The deck is 8 floors but the spaces are tiny and the headroom is tight. The deck is made for compact cars, not trucks, SUV's and vans that most people take on a vacation.

We stayed in Unit 206 in the South Tower. Here's what was wrong with our rental: poor electrical--faulty light switch, poor circuit construction--too many devices on one circuit easily causing breakers to trip, bathroom lights were wired in with the GFCI outlets so they tripped often (I'm pretty sure this does not meet code); cheap appliances that had broken components; junk vacuum cleaner; cheap furniture and TV's; sliding door to balcony is heavy and very loud when opening/closing--we hear folks above us every time they went in and out.

We were not able to access the storage closet in the hall for our unit. I guess the owner doesn't mind folks toting in sand-covered equipment and toys to be stored on the balcony.

The only beach accesses that had faucets/showers for rinsing sand were the one's leading to the pools. The access path that went strait to the building stairwell did not have any faucets.

WiFi internet speed is very slow.

Management staff are rude and not helpful. They are also liars. When you call to report a problem they say they are working on it but never show up to fix it. They have that poor, sour, northern attitude as well--definely not getting any southern hospitality here.

On my next beach stay, I plan to avoid condo rentals or any property owned by someone in BFE and managed by someone who doesn't care. It seems like you get treated much better in a true hotel (not condo) when the folks operating the place have a greater interest in it's well being and customer satisfaction.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

A few years ago we took our first trip to MB....and stayed at the Cresent Shores....due to the outstanding accommodations, we keep going back. One trip we only needed a 2 bedroom and another we needed a four bedroom. Both were very well appointed, decorated beautifully and as clean as you could ask for. Our kids and grand child absolutely love this place!! My husband and I just returned from MB and can't wait to go back....we stayed in myrtle beach rather than north myrtle because cresent shores didn't have a one bedroom....we enjoyed it, but the quality didn't come close to what we have grown to expect at Cresent Shores!! You won't be disappointed if you are looking for amazing oceanfront views and beautifully furnished, appointed condos!!! We are going again in August with the whole family again....can't wait!!!

We stayed at Crescent Shores for the first time during spring break 2013 upon arrival we discovered black mold in our rental. We took pictures of the mold and showed them to the front office. They sent someone to clean the mold who was unable to do so because it is grown into the wall and was starting to actually deteriorate the structure of the wall. Once it could not be cleaned we called the office again and got a response of we must have expanded the picture and it was only a small spot of mold and there was nothing wrong with the wall (of course when Lynn Cwanbyrn the general manager) was offered to come look for herself she declined the invitation and still insisted this was nothing of concern. Everyone who stayed in this room is now sick and we can't help but think this has something to do with it. I have never stayed at an establishment that is so unwilling to work with and listen to it's patrons. I will never plan a vacation that has anything to do with Crescent Shores again nor will I ever advise someone else to do so.

Third time at this condo and very happy! Always upgraded and very clean. Family really enjoys the area. Many good places to eat around the property. Be sure to check out Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing.

We are currently staying in a first floor, 2 bedroom condo here at Crescent Shores. The privately owned condo (Room 104-North tower) is nice and we love the first floor since we don't have to bother with the elevator, except when carrying all of our luggage (first floor is not ground floor). These owners have updated their unit so it has been a pleasant stay. However, I'm not real thrilled with the resort complex. It is only September and they are already closing the pool and lazy river for a couple of days at a time to clean them, which, believe me, THEY NEED IT! But, when you bring your kids to the beach, having a pool or lazy river closed is a down side for sure. Also, there are signs posted at both spas that say "Adults only in spa". I'm sure they have some sort of reason for this, but we actually have a hot tub at home and my kids are in it all the time, so it is very unfair to ban them from the spas here. Some parents are responsible enough to make sure their kids are safe and behaved in the spa!!! All in all, we have had a wonderful time, but the fact that my kids aren't welcome to enjoy all of the resort amenities will keep me from booking here again. I also think that Condo World, or any rental company, should inform customers of pool closings or "Adults only in spa" before they take your non-refundable money, since the dates of the pool closings were right on the check-in package when we got here.

Room Tip: I highly recommend the first floor if you don't want to use the elevator much. Plus, since it i...
