“Perfect family vacation spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

We just left Crescent Shores, where we spent a heavenly 7 day vacation in N108. I must say we were impressed with this unit. We had 3 kids- two small ones an a teenager and we shared the unit with another family who had two small kids and two teenage girls. There was plenty of room for all of us and having three bathrooms really helped. Everything was clean and well maintained. All we had to buy were groceries and paper goods. There were enough cooking utensils to make a feast. The balcony was great- we really enjoyed sitting around the patio table outside and watching the ocean at night. This condo was very kid friendly. The pool wasnt my favorite- it is narrow and gets shady around 2- but I dont go to the beach for a pool...lazy river is small but the kids still enjoyed it. Parking wasnt too bad....sometimes we had to park on 7th or 8th floor but that is to be expected during peak season. The beach out in front is extremely crowded- but once again, peak season. We watched Dads racing to set their tents and umbrellas up at 7:00am every morning. We had to walk down the beach a little ways to get a good spot, but that was fine with me. Molly Darcy's bar and grill next door is good, and the beachwear shop across the street is nice too. The ice cream shop across the street was always too crowded at night...but once again- peak season. Beds were very comfy and jacuzzi tub in master was awesome. I was pleasently suprised with the amount of beach chairs and sand toys in the storage unit- we didnt have to buy a thing. Hallways and elevators- even stairwell was very clean- there was no loud noise anywhere at night. Looked like mostly families here. The pool closes at 10:00 so you cant walk thru to get to the beach if you go for a night walk and the pool is the only place to rinse off. Our door handle to the balcony broke off and we called and they had someone out to fix it that day. The guy was extremely courteous and the locksmith he sent was professional and friendly. All in all, we loved Crescent Shores. Location is great- close to many restaurants and mini-golf in walking distance. Make sure and try "Sticky Fingas" and Barefoot Landing...only about a 5 minute drive. We will be back....already thinking about next year!

We stayed in 1803N needing a 4 bedroom 4 bath for our family of 8. Our daughter and son-in-law stayed in a bedroom with a king sized bed. They complained after the first night of the bed sagging in the middle. My husband and son-in -law checked under the bed only to find the frame being held up with beach chairs. We called right a way to have it fixed and had to call again that evening only to be told that it was after hours! The shower handle was broken in the master bath and we found a coffee can holding up our king bed frame. All these issues were eventually fixed. The worst problem that we had was the roaches. I had to call the office a number of times to complain about them. After 2 days of killing the roaches ourselves, they sent an exterminator to spray. I was very concerned about the toxic chemicals now in the condo with our children and grandchildren there. The people that I talked to in the office about all these different issues did not seem to care about us or the problems that we had.

This summer will be our 4th year at Crescent Shores. We always stay in 612S. Our family of 7 adults and 4 kids enjoy staying here every summer. Yes, the elevators and luggage carts are well used during check in and out, but if you know ahead of time, you can either time it better or just be patient. I am sure all of the resorts are similar in that respect. The location is great, the beach crowded, but not terrible. The pools and lazy river are crowded at certain times of the day, but you can see from your balcony if it is a good time to go or not. You may spend a little time cleaning, as the standards of people vary on what is clean or not. These condos are what they are, vacation rentals. We have never been overly disappointed with Crescent Shores and have had service any time it was needed. Remember also, these units are not all owned by the same people, so they are NOT all the same. All in all, go for it! It's the beach.

We came to the area on a week's vacation. The pictures looked gorgeous and good reviews of the actual unit. The location is nice and the beach front was great. Easy access to the pools etc. This was about all we could enjoy of our trip. When we walked up to our door it was disgusting - every door had paint falling off (although they had signs posted they were painting). When we opened the door expecting this gorgeous 4 bedroom, 3 bath unit to our surprise it was gross as well. The unit pictures were obviously when they first opened the unit up for rental. The white walls were filthy and tile floors nasty. Literally our feet and socks turned black from the floors. We discovered our sheets and decided to make the beds and try to make the best of it. We got to our beds which had the top blanket on and it was just as gross. The mattress pads looked like they had NEVER been washed. The pillows had big yellow stains on them (went to Walmart to buy new). I was in tears at how gross some place could be. We spent our time disinfecting the whole place and washing items. Even the bathroom carpets were never washed. Honestly again the best part was escaping to the balcony to enjoy the ocean side or being downstairs at the ocean/pool. Just a shame owners are deceitful in their pictures and advertisement.

Our family of 7 gathered from 3 states to spend a week together in rental 402. The condo was very nice and clean with a beautiful ocean view, 3 full baths and a huge balcony that looks over the lazy river and ocean. The Crescent Shores building is relatively clean and in good condition. The elevators are a nightmare at check in, so if you can time it later you'd be better off. There is ample parking across the street in their garage. My biggest complaints about Crescent Shores come from the lack of supervision at the lazy river, pools and hot tub as well as the condition and lack of rule enforcement of the beach. The lazy river was impossible to use due to the children swimming in it, as was the hot tub. On several occasions we saw parents in the hot tub with infants. The rules clearly state for the lazy river that tubes must be used and that no one should be on the middle area and yet there were children jumping off this area into the 3' water. The rules also say no children in the hot tub and yet there they were swimming and slipping all over it. I know that the parents should be responsible for them following the rules but believe that the 'Pool Monitor' should be enforcing the rules for everyone's enjoyment. As for the beach, I love the feel of the sand between my feet, but the beach area in front of Crescent Shores is awful! The reason is because again the rules of aren't being enforced by either Crescent Shores or Myrtle Beach whomever is responsible. The tents aren't supposed to go up before 8 am, this would give the beach cleaners time to come by and get the bottle caps, cigarette butts, fireworks pieces and other trash up. Instead the people in front of the Crescent Shores buildings start marking their territory as early as 6 am and so the beach is never fully cleaned. It is truly sad when you don't want to walk through the sand because you don't know what you'll step on.

Room Tip: 402 is well maintained by the owners and is spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean.

this is the second review I have given this unit. It is still a great day value, but crescent shores was very crowded this time.we still had a great time even though we had to wait for the elevator some other time. Parking underneath is a challenge sometimes, but parking across the street is fine. We will definitely go again.

Here's a real review from an actual tenant--not an owner or one of their friends.

When we picked this place we didn't consider how tall the building was. That many floors means the beach in front will be extremely crowded. You could barely get through to the water with all of the umbrellas and tents. Also, a parasail and banana boat operaiton was using a good bit of the beach nearby for their operation which was a little annoying.

The parking here is a joke. The deck is 8 floors but the spaces are tiny and the headroom is tight. The deck is made for compact cars, not trucks, SUV's and vans that most people take on a vacation.

We stayed in Unit 206 in the South Tower. Here's what was wrong with our rental: poor electrical--faulty light switch, poor circuit construction--too many devices on one circuit easily causing breakers to trip, bathroom lights were wired in with the GFCI outlets so they tripped often (I'm pretty sure this does not meet code); cheap appliances that had broken components; junk vacuum cleaner; cheap furniture and TV's; sliding door to balcony is heavy and very loud when opening/closing--we hear folks above us every time they went in and out.

We were not able to access the storage closet in the hall for our unit. I guess the owner doesn't mind folks toting in sand-covered equipment and toys to be stored on the balcony.

The only beach accesses that had faucets/showers for rinsing sand were the one's leading to the pools. The access path that went strait to the building stairwell did not have any faucets.

WiFi internet speed is very slow.

Management staff are rude and not helpful. They are also liars. When you call to report a problem they say they are working on it but never show up to fix it. They have that poor, sour, northern attitude as well--definely not getting any southern hospitality here.

On my next beach stay, I plan to avoid condo rentals or any property owned by someone in BFE and managed by someone who doesn't care. It seems like you get treated much better in a true hotel (not condo) when the folks operating the place have a greater interest in it's well being and customer satisfaction.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.
