My husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to have lunch at Gios on their first Saturday open for lunch, and we got there just as they opened, and most of the time during our meal, were the only people there. They were very accommodating and it was so enjoyable talking with the staff.

For those concerned with the noise level, come back and try it again. It appears they've hung sound deadening panels from the ceiling and when another couple finally came in, we couldn't hear their conversation at all.

We tried the soup of the day, a root vegetable soup. It had loads of turnips, carrots, parsnips, onions, all in a very light light creamy broth. When we first tasted it, we thought well, this has no flavor at all, but then the very complex flavors begin to come through (is that anise?) and after just a couple bites, we were both digging into the bowl and even sopped it up with the delicious bread.

My husband ordered the meatball tom tom appetizer, two wonderfully seasoned meatballs swimming in heavenly marinara sauce. I ordered a spinach calzone which when cut open just oozed deliciously light ricotta and mozarella cheeses. It came with a full cup of that heavenly marinara sauce and we both ate everything.

We want to come back in warmer weather to try out the seating area in back and to try some of the other dishes that sounded so great.

So give them a try in their new location -- we know we'll be back!

My first (and last) visit there was sub par. First, and very noteworthy is the acoustics. The dining room is very small with tile floors. You can hear every word of a conversation spoken in normal tones 3 tables away. You can also hear every clink of glassware, silverware, scraping chairs, etc. We arrived towards the end of the dinner hour and stood waiting for at least 10 minutes before being approached. After being seated, our order was taken fairly promptly. Then we sat and watched as diners finished and left, others were seated, orders taken and then served. When my escort questioned why others (seated after us) were served before we were, the server gave us the "doe in the headlights" look and walked away, not to return. My escort had to get up and ask someone else where our meal was. He found out that our order had been "lost". By now, the restaurant was nearly empty, but we were hungry. We changed our orders to spaghetti, thinking it would be quick and easy. Not so... 20 minutes later it arrived, cooked al dente. It was not ordered that way. By now, we were the only customers remaining. A totally different waitress did come over to offer an apology, When the bill was presented, we were charged full price. We will not return.

I noticed that this review was written in January, however the reviewer visited in November. I am concerned that the reviewer waited so long to write the review, not giving us an opportunity to be able to pin point the issues and possibly fix it. Regarding our staff and service, we have over the past couple of months improved our service significantly. We have had thorough training and testing of our staff. As far as acoustics are concerned, we are aware of the issue and are in the process of addressing this. We invite the reviewer to return and give us another chance, and definitely ask that reviews be written in a timely manner so that we can better address any potential issues. Since the majority of our reviews are positive, the few negative deeply impact us and we need to be informed in a timely manner in order to act.

First, the decor and atmosphere was very complimenting for the food. My wife and I dined here and it felt romantic. The choices for dinner we had were great. Seasoned well. Loved the pizza we had.
