The resort offered great activities and our room was less then 50 yards from the beach and ocean - which was perfect and wonderful. It hosts a great gym, a great spa, has decent food and biking (bikes can be rented on site) in the nearby accessible State park was a bonus.

A lesson learned however about resorts that offer condo living experiences...note to self ..ask for one that has been upgraded or recently renovated. We stayed in the Bridgewater condo's # 207 and it is in serious need of updating. The condo has a musty smell in all rooms. The living room furniture is stained, carpet torn & worn throughout. The curtains are torn in both the living and bedrooms. The Jack & Jill bathroom tub lightning is poor - when you closed the shower curtain - you loose all your lightning, The towels are worn and scratchy. The bathroom ceilings have stains, the bathroom mirrors are missing the metallic backing that makes them mirrors, the wood trimmed kitchen cabinets are old and faded, the white cabinets are old and not so white anymore and the yellow paint throughout the condo is faded. The bedroom mattress (closet to bathroom) is saggy.

Resort great - but I am opting out of absentee owner condo rentals in the future...

Room Tip: Ask for a newly renovated condo :)

My guess is for the area, this is the nicest place around. However, I think giving it 4 stars is generous but 3 stars felt cruel. Here's how I felt:

Pros:
Pretty much ON the beach
The hotel is well-priced
Starbucks next to mail lobby
Centrally located
Decent Restaurant with excellent waitstaff
Clean rooms
Good views
Safe community with a gate
Indoor pool, outdoor pool, gym, etc
Spa

Cons:
The bedding needs updating. Like, when I saw the comforter I kicked it off and decided I'd rather sleep cold
The bathroom needs to upgrade its toilet paper to double or triple ply. C'mon now
The bathroom needs nicer products - they didn't give out little moisturizer bottles and the shampoo was crap. Also, a few qtips and cotton balls go a long way
There were no bottles of water in the hotel room. Every decent hotel room I stay in will give 2 bottles of water, free of charge.
No room service

I really hope they make these tiny improvements because it will go a LONG way in making this place feel more upscale. And...these updates are NBD, and they are overdue.

I'm not a golfer so I don't care about that option here. I'm all about the quality of the room and the food and the facility. The one bedroom unit is OK but nothing spectacular. There is a neat pool, a Starbucks on site and the buffet breakfast is GREAT. The TV's are small, no aux in jacks for audio on the radio, and mnimal cooking utensils.

What is great is the "shoulder season" pricing. Rooms with breakfast included can behadfor around $80 per day!

I'll be back at that price for this.

We found this location was centralized to visiting Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Ryan was extremely helpful on our arrival and Megan at Websters went out of her way to fix my eyeglasses when the lens popped out of the frame. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and coffee was excellent.

The room was perfect for a 2 day stay. The only reason I did not give it a perfect score is because they gave us 2 full beds when we told them it would be 1 couple. A queen bed would of been more suitable.I would consider going back and staying longer as long as we had a queen size bed.

This is a great spot for a family weekend. We stayed in the hotel rooms which were very inexpensive ($81 per night) which gives you access to a lazy river pool, huge hot tub and a gorgeous beach. We must have walked for miles on that beach! Next time I would upgrade to a 1 bedroom with a kitchen since the hotel restaurant was pretty expensive and not that great. We also loved watching the sunset from their Beach clubhouse! It was BYOB and there were lots of couples and groups with their own beverages and snacks enjoying the sunset and each other. Great view!

My friend and I recently spent the week-end at Litchfield. Everything about this resort was top-notch. Comfy beds, spacious rooms, clean and well maintained. Starbuck's in the lobby! Hope to return with my husband soon.
