“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2013

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend and I liked it. It was a pretty nice suite. The plantation is huge and they had 2 outdoor pools. The golf course was nice too but I don't play golf. It was a quiet place. Great for golfers!

“Absolutely Deserves to be one of the top rated courses in the Grand Strand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2013

I played this course back in late November '12 with friends. All I can really say is that it was awesome!! We checked out the course on line and I was certain that I would not like it at all due to it's difficulties, but to my surprise the course is not as forboding as it appears on paper. Yes it is difficult, don't mistake that, but it is at least fair to all ability players. My buddy and I played from the Gold Tees while our sons, the long hitters, played from the "tips" as they call the championship tees down here.
They have a very unique way of getting you from cart path to the fairways, in some locations, but using plank built sloped ramps. I've never seen that before. With the typical fall/winter overseeding, the course looked and played as if in mid season shape. The greens were pretty fast, but again fair, and rolled basically the way you read them.
I would highly reccommend this course to anyone, even if you don't like to be overly challenged. Yes, it's pricy to play, but you will be able to say that you played one of the best.

“One of our favority layouts!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2013

This is a beautiful, difficult, upscale golf course set on an old indigo plantation, and one of our very favorite courses on the South Strand. Lots of interesting waterways run through the area and present challenges, and fairway bunkers are all waste area, so you drive the cart right in. Ice is available on hot days, and don't forget your insect repellant. Greens fees are among the highest in the area, unless you have a "deal". After reading the reviews from the people who rented condos, it sounds like the condos do NOT live up to the golf course.

“True Blue Plantation is true blue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2012

Played golf there a long time ago and realized how hard that course really was. However, the lunch afterwards made up for it. Good selections of home cooked plates that are filling and priced well.
