The course was fair but very challenging. It was very organized and we played fairly quick. Several of the holes left we high handicappers searching for new shots, but it was worth the search.

We have always loved staying at the True Blue Plantation. It is so very close to everything in the Myrtle Beach area, yet far enough off the beaten path in Pawleys Island without the huge traffic jams. The only trouble we had there on this past visit (of 3 throughout the past 3 years) was the pool areas. It seems that this 'Resort' is now renting to folks on a day to day basis, instead of a weekly basis or more. So, over a 3 week stay, on the weekends, people would come in on Sat., book a condo that holds and pays for 8 and bring 16 plus. Then, they send the kids with the wrist bands to the pool WITHOUT adult supervision, and well, you can just imagine. And it didn't always happen on the weekends, but even just a few days made it miserable even though there are 4 pool areas. We always go to the beach in the AM, lunch then pool in the PM. Will we stay there again next year while we go house hunting? Probably not....but we'll keep checking the posts. Maybe the people who DO live there and PAY HOA fees with get up in Arms about this...they should.

I play this course once a year and all of the holes are memorable. Fairways are wide enough to land a plane, avoid the sand as the ball "sticks" in it. If you play it for the 1st time, I would suggest buying a yardage book as their are some blind shots and blind holes.

The finishing hole is typical Mike Stranz: bets will be settled as par or better is a good score.

Fun place to play, interesting holes. Bag staff a little rough and the greens were disappointing from previous visits.
