“Great starter course”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

We always start our golf outing here as it is a very fair course but still challanging enough. Since greens were replaced a couple years ago it has improved this course alot. Highly recommend this course for anyone.

“Slow Play Plus”
Reviewed 25 April 2013

Friends and I have played this course since 1990 we are all 15 to 19 handicap golfers. It took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to play the first three holes. The rounds were averaging 5 Hours and 15 minutes plus. We came up to hole # 6 with 4 golfers on the green, a foursome , another foursome,a threesome all waiting on the tee, and another foursome coming off #5. We called the club house and asked if a ranger could come out and help. We were told they could see where all the carts where on their computer via the GPS system in the carts and it WAS NOT BACKED UP. Painful ,,,one of the guys in the foursome behind us quit after 9 holes. Groups of guys playing from the blues tees that had no business playing from back there. No management control of play whatsoever.

“Good Course Layout & True Rolling Greens”
Reviewed 1 March 2013

The course favours left to right players. Played on a coolish early February day. Took the advice of my old timer playing partner & factored in the extra club...Greens putted well with no surprises. Thanks to the grounds-crew for that!

“Great value”
Reviewed 3 January 2013

Played Lake Marion at the end of December while on vacation in the Santee area. It is a very playable, but challenging course. It was in fine condition for the time of year. However, the greens were spotty - but not terribly bad for the time of year. Played Santee National a couple of days later. Their greens were in very good shape. Talked to a local and he said Santee National had the best greens in the area. Overall Santee National is more difficult. But at $29 Lake Marion was a great value. Will play there again when we go to the area in the fall. At 68 it was nice to play a course that was challenging but not unreasonably difficult.

“Challenging golf course.”
Reviewed 16 October 2012

1st hole par 5 which I like because it gives you a chance to adjust to the conditions. Course layout is not a flat terrain it is quite hilly. The pro shop has everything you need from golf equipment and repairs to quick snacks for the appetite.
