We traded our timeshare points to spend a week at the Plantation Resort. We traveled with two toddlers, two babysitters (very important!), my husband, and myself- 2 cars driving 13 hours each way, ugh. It was totally worth it. The room was beautiful- a 2BR condo unit with a little balcony, updated and clean and with all the amenities and furnishings we needed. I didn't like that we had to climb so many stairs (with a stroller) to get to the 2nd floor unit, but that was my only complaint. The location is across the street from the beach, but there is a shuttle. We only went to the beach once and found that the resort offered so many activities for the little ones that we didn't feel the need to get all sandy and haul out the beach umbrella. We used the resort's beach towels (which we could wash in our room's washer and dryer) and hit the 3 kiddie pools, the regular swimming pool, or the lazy river, which were tons of fun for the kids. There's also an indoor pool and a couple of hot tubs. Would be nice to have a playground on-site, though. Our room overlooked a little stream with baby ducks and baby geese, which were a kick for the kids. We used the charcoal BBQ and cooked in most nights, although we didn't take advantage of any of the resort's organized activities. The hotel could not provide a portacrib or high chair- they sent me a number for a place that rents them, but we just wound up bringing our own. Overall it was a really nice and relaxing trip, and I was glad to be at Plantation Resort instead of one of the outdated, cramped hotels in Myrtle Beach. It's a quick drive to get to Myrtle Beach from Surfside and there is a ton of stuff to do in the area for people of any age: golfing, beach, mini-golf, nightlife, shopping, restaurants, deep sea fishing, you name it. I'm so glad we took our little ones here, and we had a great week!

Stayed the week of 22-29 May. Three couples in a 3 bedroom with a forth couple visiting often. Plenty of room for all and very comfortable. It was nice to have the second room (lock off) as it provided space for quiet time if needed. Also the second washer/dryer and fridge came in handy. We used the pool and hot tub frequently, very refreshing after a morning on the golf course. No beach access but its not a very far drive to the Surfside Pier. A visit to Meyer's Ice Cream is a must.

My husband and I just got back from our first family vacation (with our 3 kids that are grown and in their twenties, two spouses and 1 grandbaby) together. After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried about what we would find. But we were happy when we got there!! The grounds were very nice with lots of Palm trees. Our condo was a large two bedroom, a three bedroom would have been nice but wasn't available. It was very clean and well equipped!! You could tell they had just painted it and added some updates such as granite counter tops. There was a little covered porch in the back that had a private and pretty backyard. The ducks came up to us and entertained my little 1 year old grandson. We also had a couple BBQs back there! The pools were amazing, they had a nice baby pool, indoor pool, outdoor pool, lazy river and saunas. which we all really enjoyed. My kids said the work out room was awesome, too! The condo was close to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The beach was very close, tool! We all jumped in the car and drove down the street a short distance to get there. The staff was always polite, friendly and helpful, as well! There also was a cleaning fee of $54.00, which was the only fee. We didn't mind paying it because the cost for this place was so reasonable and very clean. Is this place super fancy? No, but it was very nice!!! We all had a great time, it provided a little something for everyone and gave us all great memories together. We would definitely go back next year! Thank you everyone at Plantation resort, you all did a great job!!!

Our most recent trip to Myrtle Beach we stay here at the Presidential Villas @ Plantation Resort. As always we had a terrific vacation. The units are large with plenty of space. We stayed in a 2bedroom unit. Walking in the front door makes you feel like your getting to your home away from home.

The living room is large with plenty of seating. You then enter into to open kitchen/dining area just off the living room. A short walk down the hallway and you reach the bedroom, one with 2 bouble beds and a full bathroom off the room with a 2nd enterence to the bathroom from the hall. This bedroom also has direct access to the patio deck off the back of the unit. The Mater bedroom is opposite the other bedroom and this one has a large king bed, a pricate ensuite bathroom and a large jacuzzi tub open to the room. Also off the master is a door that allows access to the patio deck.

The unit is equiped with all you needs with a full kitchen, 1 1/2 bathrooms and enough sleeping area for 8 people plus washer/dryer. The 2 bedroom unit are also equiped with an optional lockoff hotel unit that has king bed, partial kitchen, private full bathroom and another washer/dryer. If you book a unit with the hotle unit included it becomes a 3 bedroom unit.

We love everytime we visit this resort and look forward to our next trip.

This resort provided better-than-expected results as it was the farthest north we had ever been for Spring Break. Being veteran timeshare exchangers, we are used to warmer locations such as Mexico and Florida for Spring Break. But even though the weather was only in the low-70s on the best days, we got sunburned lounging around the pool and hanging out at the beach. This area is a golf mecca. The resort offered a Monday golf clinic, in which a pro from the Tupelo Golf center gave a great interactive presentation. For anybody interested in golf, you must attend. For $10 each the next day, he gave a golf class at their driving range. Excellent value -- best of the week. Nevertheless, we dropped several bucks at Tupelo Golf, playing the Par 3 course and the Executive Course. We also played the Wicked Stick, John Daly's golf course nearby for $42 a round including cart. John Daly's Discount Golf store is right near the resort, and is well-stocked with some great deals. Avoid the seafood buffets on the main drag -- very expensive and not much more than "fish camp" places back home.
