“nice people & interesting if you like tea”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2012

No cost here to visit the place and see a short tour ( good deal) . The tram that takes people on a trip throught the tea fields is $10. We did not take. Have heard from others that it is ok.
The people who work here were very nice and woudl answer any question you had about tea.

“Well worth the drive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2012

It's a bit of a drive from Charleston (about 20 miles) into a rural part of SC, but it was worth the trip. All of the staff were very nice and well informed on the history of the plantation and making of tea. Take the trolley tour to see the grounds ($10). There's a free tour of their small factory every 15 minutes. Free samples of iced and hot tea....

“Very Pleasant and Informative if You're in the Area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2012

I've had friends visit several times, so after wearing out the beach, shops and restaurants, this was a nice alternative activity. We arrived relatively early (10:45 AM) and bought tickets for the trolley tour at 11:15. This gave us just enough time to do the factory tour (10-12 minutes, I think), which was interesting, grab a free cup of tea and sit in the rocking chairs on the porch. The trolley tour guide was nice and funny and the tour itself was long enough to learn something but short enough to not be bored. I wouldn't drag a kid here (you literally watch tea dry) but for nerdy adults (myself included) it's a nice activity.
