I was not sure if I would enjoy this attraction and was pleasantly surprised. The tour guide was very informative. The information about the tea plant growth and manufacturing was interesting. The plantation was scenic and the petting zoo was a nice surprise. The gift shop was very nice. The side trip to the Angel tree was impressive. The tour guide went out of his way to drive us through the battery section of Charleston and provided us with lots of extra information. Thanks to our guide Dale.

This is the only tea plantation in North America! I thought it might be boring but was pleasantly surprised that I learned so much and had a very good time. I got a good education on tea and the production of tea. The grounds are very beautiful. Tea is available to sample, both hot and iced varieties. The gift shop is large and has many gifts to go along with the many different kinds of tea. I liked the Trolly tour around the plantation-it does cost but this helps to subsidize the research and the development of more of the plantation.the trolly tour is optional, you may visit the self guided tour and gift shop as well as walk around the grounds for Free! I'm glad to add this to my bucket list!!!

It was very interesting to visit and tour this plantation. It is the only tea plantation in America. The free tour is in the main building and takes visitors through the process of processing tea from field to package. Visitors can help themselves to sample different hot and iced teas. A trolley tour through the fields is available for a fee. This tour educates visitors concerning the horticultural aspects of growing tea. We had a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. The employees are so helpful and welcoming. It is handicapped accessible.

Beautiful grounds. Free hot tea and iced tea. A very informative tour. First there is a self-guided video tour. You can also take a trolley tour of the grounds. Steven was our guide, very entertaining and knowledgeable. The trolley tour which is $10 a person, I did find a little high since most of what you learn is covered in the video factory tour. I do recommend going as this is the only tea plantation in North America.

This was one of the most interesting and informative tours that I've taken. The Plantation visit is certainly worth the half hour ride from Charleston. We have visited the city many times and were not aware of this unique part of it. The welcome we received at the Plantation was "Southern Hospitality" at it's finest. Complimentary iced and hot teas were well received after the ride out. The factory tour and the trolley ride were beautifully done. The most unique thing, in my perspective was the amount of tea produced with a very small labor force. The fact that they use no pesticides nor insecticides in the growing process is amazing. The "Green Giant" harvester was impressive. On top of everything else, their tea is great!
