“Good food at a reasonable price”
Reviewed 25 April 2013

I have only had mustard-based BBQ sauce in South Carolina. While I prefer the North Carolina vinegar-based sauce, the mustard-based sauce is a nice change of pace. At my recent visit to Maurice's, the meat was tender, juicy and plenty of it on my sandwich. The french fries were crisp. The potato salad was very tasty. The sweet tea was very sweet, just like you would expect in the south. The order counter staff and the table waitress were very friendly and helpful. The sign outside read, "Best BBQ in the World." I don't know about that, especially since a mustard-based sauce probably has a limited appeal, but I would recommend it to anyone that likes BBQ and is open-minded to non-traditional sauce.

“Not real Bar-B-Que”
Reviewed 25 July 2012

They serve mustard-based Bar-B-Que. Not real Bar-B-Que. But that's just my preference. Try another place.

“Avoid this place...”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

I have been to this place twice on trips along I-77. The food is mediocre - they use a mustard/vinegar based sauce which is just okay. The "rib platter" had 2 and a half not very meaty ribs. The ribs were not especially tasty. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich was equally bland. The counter staff were disinterested despite the fact that they were not busy - perhaps that's why.
