“Name does not say it all, more then expected!”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

With a name like pheasant my husband did not think it was my type of place not that I am high class that is for sure just like nice restaurants! Walked in very tastefully decorated and good service, at home feel! The burgers were great nice place to go would like to go there for and evening meal sometime! They do serve pheasant salad sandwiches too did not try! Would recommend!

“Nice place to eat”
Reviewed 27 September 2013 via mobile

We are originally from Brookings and had not been in the Pheasant for over 40 years. We are staying in Brookings for a month and have eaten here 3 times. The atmosphere is very good, much changed from years ago. Everyone was very friendly and provided good service. They have a very interesting area where different types of fresh Extra Virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegars are on display and sold, a very unique business (www.cdpoliveoil.com). The food is not quite good enough to rate a 5 overall but they do have some excellent selections. You will be pleased with your visit.

“Good food slow service”
Reviewed 14 August 2013 via mobile

This was our first visit. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was good. The kids' menu had familiar options and we all found something.

We went midweek in the evening, when there were several free tables, and sat right down. We were surprised at the slow service, and assumed perhaps they were short staffed (although the service didn't speed up once several tables emptied.)

This is not fast food, but tasty, with some inventive menu items you might not find elsewhere. Don't miss the home-made ice cream!

“BEST bacon and bleu cheese pork chops!!!”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

The service here is great in an otherwise low key and casual atmosphere. Unfortunately this particularly Monday there was no live jazz, but apparently there often is and that is a draw. As far as the food -- everything was excellent and the pork chops are highly recommended as their famous artisan ice cream. The wine and beer selection is very good. This is a great option for a "treat yourself to a night out" kind of place. Even though it is a bit further out from the center of town, it is definitely worth a visit!
