Clean. Very friendly. Great access to Queen Charlotte Track etc. Great location. Reasonably priced. Staff helpful and relaxed. Rooms clean. Would recommend it as a perfect place to finish a hard exercising holiday if you don't want to splash out too much, but need a bit of a chillax. I'd go again.

Two nights at the backpackers with spotless amenities. Clean towels and linen provided together with a very comfortable bed, reading lamp and coat hangers. After a day on the Queen Charlotte Track I could come "home" and have a swim in the pool and lie in a hammock in the orchard. In the early morning the view of the surrounding pastures and hills was a dream from my chair on the lawn. If Adam passed he would happily suggest an adventure for the day. I was but one visitor but felt at home and had a super stay. Plenty to do and see in this beautiful area.

Room Tip: Backpackers' rooms very quiet.

After just 2 nights we decided to extend our stay. Not only because of the motel itself but because of Adam & Melissa, the owners. So the motel is family-owned what makes this place even more special. Both of them are very friendly and are keen to make your stay as nice as possible. Apart from that the location right at the end of the Queen Charlotte Track between hills and a beach nearby is not the worst choice! Especially as it is probably one of the most modern accommodations around here. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. There are family studios as well as double rooms in two of the wings. Each one is equipped with a bathroom, a kitchen with a separate table and chairs, a TV and a telephone. The third wing is a backpacker's lodge which offers double and single rooms (even though booking a single will end in having a double room on your own - for the same price! Consequently no bunk beds and no one who will wake you up while sleeping) and shared facilities. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets so you will never queue for a shower! In addition the beds are very comfortable - more than you would expect of a backpackers. On top there is a swimming pool but you will probably prefer the beach as it is only a 5 minutes drive away. Your car can be parked for free on the property. A place to relax but at the same time still a lot of things to explore (hiking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, biking, ...).

Room Tip: If you have the choice, book a room on the upper level in order to get the best view!

We stayed for a night just recently, this motel is superb. Clean, modern and very comfortable bed. This motel is in Linkwater which is between Havelock and Picton on the Queen Charlotte Drive. Very handy to the end of the Queen Charlotte Track, they have a sign out offering showers for walkers coming off the track. The backpackers part of the facility is also excellent, we had members of the group staying in this part and using the kitchen/dining/lounge part - very impressive set up.
