I read the other reviews here, but the other hotels in Deadwood (and much of he black hills area) were full, so we went with the Mineral Palace, which was recommended by the Celebrity Hotel staff, which was full for the night.. We were extremely satisfied with the very courteous staff who remembered and welcomed us everytime we encountered them. We had kids with us, and are not big gamblers, and they were full of great suggestions for activities with the kids. The room was beautiful and spotless, and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! (And I have a really bad back and a $12,000 tempur-pedic comfort zone adjustible bed at home). We are really picky about cleanliness, and were very satisfied.

The Gem steakhouse was full and had great steaks...I recommend the Garlic rib-eye, which was delicious. It seems that the Mineral Palace has done a turnaround from their previous issues expressed here. Read my other reviews, and you will see that I am not too generous with my compliments...We would stay there again.

I have seen more organization in a monkey crap fight at the city zoo! My wife and I were left disappointed time and again from the Suite that wasn't Sweet. To the Anniversary Dinner that never came!
For nearly $300 you would think the staff would atleast try to make your stay pleasant.

The staff is too busy gossiping amongst themselves to pay attention to the patrons.

Waitress needed to be reminded to remove salad plates prior to serving main course and reminded to clean off main course before serving dessert. Also water and drinks had to be asked for. Floor in restaurant was dirty with food items. Staff seemed to be unorganized and inept.

Room 119 was noisy during the night because of water noise in wall of bathroom from second floor bathrooms. Room also had a lot of traffic noise and noise above it from room or hallway. Complaint was not addressed by floor manager in any way or form and was very uncaring about the situation. Way overpriced room for the problems.

We stayed on September 19th, the door man was very nice, but can't say much for the room.
We were woke up at 2:00 a.m. with the person above us walking around and using the shower, the wall vibrated with noise and I mean a lot of noise. The bath room also had "someones" underware and t shirt in it....!!!!!
We called to complain but got 'no satisfaction', they acted like we were wrong. I would never recommed this place ever.

We went to Deadwood (Get a Way bus tour) and stayed at the Mineral Palace for 4 days/3 nights (October 6-9). The nonsmoking room was recently renovated, clean and comfortable with two queen size beds, nice furnishings and large bathroom.

We had buffet breakfasts ($1) in the morning and a coupon for the Gem Steak House. Prime Rib and Chicken Fried Steak were very tasty. The casino is large and offers many choices of slot machines.

Enjoyed the downtown location - close to the Four Aces and Tin Lizzies - and not far to the other casinos on Upper Main St and Lower Main St.. Lots of souvenir shops nearby.

We booked a tour of the cemetery and Get A Way Tours took us on a sightseeing trip to Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore. It was a great trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mineral Palace.
