Wonderful hotel. Only negative was first night, arrived tired so room service which took about three trips to get it right. Little things, no ice in ice tea, no sweetener or lemon, little things but after that, everything fine.

The last morning of our 5 night stay I started to think about this review and what was negative. I really couldn't come up with much. The hotel room was nice and I was able to sleep like I was at home. That says a lot right there! One of the big issues I have with many hotels is that you can see the door from the bed and the light from the hallway comes under the door and wakes me up. This was not an issue here. This is a great hotel.

I have continued to think about any Cons and all I could come up with was the this hotel is not within really within walking distance to town and of course the casino stealing my money. Also the pool is designed for kids and is only 3 ft deep.

We just got back from another super stay at the Lodge. We stayed in a family suite this time. Did not disappoint. Warner, Executive Casino Host , gave us great suggestions for new things to see and do. He's always so welcoming and friendly. The main desk staff--- very accommodating. Thanks to Callie for helping with reservations for next year. The food at the Grille was beautifully presented and delicious. We had the bacon wrapped filets. Wow! They were perfect How do they do that anyway??The service was great. Would suggest the thin crust Italian Stallion pizza in Oggies. Best pizza in Deadwood. They make all the bread and buns there. The Creme Bruille was a wonderful end to our meal. We won money in the casino. The casino is beautiful, bright--lots of windows and really spread out. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a great place to stay, eat and gamble. BA Hicke

Room Tip: Try to get a room looking east because then you can overlook the whole valley.

The Lodge at Deadwood is not right in town, but that suited us fine as it is in a somewhat quieter location just outside of town. The facility is clean and comfortable, as was our room. We had a large room with comfortable seating and a nice balcony. We would consider The Lodge if we were to return to Deadwood.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony looking out over the hillside. The highway is just below, but isn'...

We had a family reunion over Labor Day, and it was a huge success. We all stayed at the Lodge, which was great for my parents and also for my great nephew who loved the pool! The dealers are fantastic, were very kind to my WWII vet father, and the slots were a huge hit for my mother. I love playing cards at your casino, it's very enjoyable! The dealers and pit bosses always remember you and ask how you are doing, etc. The rooms, are absolutely gorgeous. The no smoking ban is so welcome for those of us with health issues. (But the Lodge has a smoking patio for their customers who enjoy smoking). The food in the Sports Bar is excellent, I can see why the hamburgers are rated #1 in Deadwood! Looking forward to our next trip which I have booked already. Thanks for the fun time. I never left the Lodge during the 2 1/2 days I was there :-)

Thank you for taking your time to respond on Tripadvisor about your experience at the Lodge. We are happy that you found the smoking ban in South Dakota to be great for people with health issues. It has sure made the facility more enjoyable for non smokers. Thanks for the perfect as always and we can’t want to host your family reunion in the future.

My husband and I stayed here for a business conference mid week. This is a casino hotel with a friendly and professional staff. Our room a King NS standard was very clean, had an average size bathroom with plenty of towels, a flat screen tv, free wifi, that worked great, and a comfortable bed with many pillows. We did not try the swimming pool or the exercise room so we can not comment on that. The food served during the conference was a 4.5 on a scale from 1 to 5. We will recommend this place to others and we will stay here again.
