My hubby and I on short notice due to the flooding in Colorado reserved a room at The Lodge for two nights, We flew into Denver and drove. We arrived approx midnight with severe fog and if it hadn't of been for the GPS we would of never found it. Greeting by delightful staff, Room was clean and spacious. We had an executive suite. Next morning we had to walk thru the Casino to get to resturant. Breakfast was fair. We spent the day sight seeing Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and had dinner in the hotel resturant. Fair Steak, nothing overboard. We are not gambling people and i don't really like having to walk thru casino to get to the resturant. Also, guest were outside smoking cigarettes outside the door and had to walk thru it.

Had an overnight stay here. Our room was double booked and we got upgraded to a family suite. Wow! This had two TVs, lovely en suite, two massive comfy beds and all other amenities. We had a separate sitting area. Very large room. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Massive portions, way too much for me to finish, but so tasty. Staff excellent. A relaxed, casual atmosphere. It is a casino hotel, but the pool facilities for children were above standard with lots of toys for them to play with - water cannons, pirate ship, lily pad walk on water. A bit out of Deadwood itself, but the hotel ran a shuttle bus for one dollar.

We stopped off at Deadwood on our road trip between Rapid City and the Bighorn Mountains and were pleased to find the Lodge a very pleasant modern hotel. Out of town on a main road it was only five minutes to drive in to Deadwood and out of season parking was plentiful. We had a lovely large room with all the amenities you could want. Jim who was on security was extremely helpful on arrival, insisting on helping us two ladies with our bags and making sure we were settled in. Later that night the supervisor in the Casino was kind enough to explain the workings of the slot machines to an inexperienced gambler! I was disappointed by Deadwood itself not having realised that it is a casino town. I feel that has taken away all the old western atmosphere from the town - every window you looked in was full of slot machines. The best part of the town was the Mount Moriah Cemetery where Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok are buried. That still had atmosphere! Back to the hotel though, we enjoyed our stay here and liked the Western theme of the room.

This is a great hotel! The location is superb -- atop a hill above the town of Deadwood. The friendly desk staff upgraded our room upon arrival. Our "room" ended up being a huge suite with two bathrooms, two fireplaces, a full kitchen,a huge spa tub and a nice balcony with amazing views. It was clean and comfortable.

The casino at the hotel is small but very clean (no cigarette smoke!).

We ate at the restaurant and found the service to be quite friendly and helpful, making it very easy for us to get a delicious vegan meal. Also, the pricing was very good (especially for a fine dining type restaurant).

If we ever find ourselves in Deadwood again, we will definitely be staying at this hotel!

This is a hotel and casino. The rooms are nicley decorated, very clean and comfortable. There is a small refrigerator/microwave. It is on the outskirts of Deadwood, but for $1/person there is a trolly that comes and goes every hour into Deadwood. A Sports Bar and a fine Dining Restaurant are there with very good food. Continental Breakfasts are not provided.Nice clean gaming floor. Beautiful view of the Black Hills from the front.

We stayed at this hotel, minutes from downtown Deadwood in September. We splurged and paid $250 for the family suite. The suite consists of a TV area with sofa bed, then a kitchenette and bathroom, then 2 queen beds and another TV. We have 3 kids and the room was easily big enough, but we were disappointed there was no partition between the TV room and the bed area. A partition would have been ideal, so while the kids were sleeping we could drink a bottle of vine and watch a movie.

One of the great features of this hotel is the fun pool. There are fountains for the kids to jump through, slides and a pirate ship to run around. There is also another section of the pool that has a rope ladder that spans across it and lily pads to jump across - my 7 year old loved this. For adults there is also a huge 20 person hot tub.

To get to town there is a trolley that leaves the hotel every hour, $1 per person that takes up a seat (we got charged for our 5 and 7 old on one trip, but not on others).

Everything is very clean, staff is great, food is very good too. Thoroughly recommended.

This was the best hotel for our USA road trip (Colorado to Seattle).

Ok - the location is a bit out of the way from the main town but a very small price to pay. Large room, comfortable beds, good (quiet) air conditioning - bliss!!

The Lodge is also a casino - something that I didn't realise until we arrived but this didn't present any problems as we do not gamble.

Use the trolley bus for a tour of the area - a return trip from the hotel only costs $1 - exceptional value for money.

Very good food too served at the bar!!

Really enjoyed our stay at Deadwood - Yee-hah!!
