As soon as my wife and I came in sight of The Bullock Hotel, it's "I"-appeal was evident. The old brick architecture of the storied West, draped in its own red neon light and paneled with a dark-brown wood is a sight to behold. Close your eyes and you can almost hear Wild Bill Hickok playing at a card game in the ground floor casino.
The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms modern with an old-West retro façade. We found the beds to be incredibly comfortable. The only negative concerns the window. It is only covered by wooden blinds. Having no blackout curtains, the room is bathed in light at sunrise. I can sleep through almost anything, including the morning light. The only thing I can't sleep through is my wife's displeasure. And this displeasure manifests itself during light-interrupted sleep. If you suffer the same frailties, plan accordingly.
A curious side note: whether by accident or design, our bathroom toilet did not have a lid of any kind. Only the seat.
