Was on downtown Deadwood on a Sunday night, limited dining choices. Went to Diamond Lil's, not crowded at all. Seated immediately and service was great! There was a great selection on the menu. We chose the chicken marinara and the spicy chicken sandwich. The pasta dish was warm but the pasta itself was somewhat rubbery. Taste was ok but seemed blah for flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was blah also. Not spicy at all...ketchup would have been spicier. For a grilled sandwich the Texas toast seemed to have been dipped in butter before browning on the griddle. Tomatoes on the sandwich were fresh. The fries served with this sandwich were later day fries, why make fresh at the end of the day I guess... In summary, service great, food not so great.

The cool thing about this place is that there is Kevin Costner memorabilia all over the place. The place was very smoky when we arrived. The flies were abundant and pesky. The place looked like Kevin could drop a little money into. The food and service were unmemorable.

The food was good enough though if this is supposed to be a sports bar, as advertised, they need BIGGER televisions. The best thing about the Midnight Star is all of the memorabilia and costumes from Kevin Costner's many movies

Even if you're not a Kevin Costner fan, this is a great place. Costner owns the Midnight Star Casino where this restaurant is located. It's a little hard to find on the third floor, but worth the visit. We arrived for breakfast only to be told that they only have breakfast on weeknds. This was Thursday, but they seated us anyway and gave us a great, reasonably-priced breakfast. I also felt guilty about using our coupons for discounts. But, I made up for it by adding it to the normal tip. They earned it! And, if you ARE a Costner fan, wander around the room while you wat for your food to view costumes from many of his movies. A great experience no matter how we looked at it.

The location is perfect if you're touring the Main Street casinos in Deadwood. Lots of memorabilia to keep you entertained while you enjoy a first-rate lunch or dinner. We keep coming back!
