“Excellent Guesthouse”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

Great 4 days at this country guesthouse. We had a large room with sitting area that included large plasma TV, free WiFi, DVD player, radio, kettle with drinks making facilities and two lounger chairs. The beds were electrically adjustable with top quality bed linen. The breakfasts were cooked to order with great choice of local produce. We also opted for the evening meal, which were freshly cooked every day from locally sourced meat and vegetables and concluded with a home cooked pudding. We could thoroughly recommend this good quality, friendly and very comfortable guesthouse for anyone wishing to stay in and around The Broads area.

What a lovely weekend, Cosy, warm, spotlessly clean. Character b & b in a lovely quiet location and no screaming kids being Adults only, heaven. Julie is a perfect host and a good cook have to say.
Lovely home cooked meal with a gorgeous home made desert to follow.
The breakfast certainly sets you up for the day very generous portions and tasty local produce, sausages and bacon yummy.
Will certainly return

We booked this visit late and were bowled over by the whole thing! The food was fab (and plenty of it) and Julie was a lovely hostess. Good, wholesome home cooked food. The room was clean and very comfortable. Would love to visit again in the spring/supper Jane & Michael

Just had one night B & B but how I wish we had been able to stay longer. Lovely room next to the dining room with recliner armchairs, huge ty and twin beds that also reclined (don't know if that is the right word - the head and foot of the bed moved to suit, lovely). All very clean and comfortable and breakfast was wonderful - freshly cooked and good quality food. Wish I could have eaten more but we had been out the evening before into Yarmouth and I was still full from American Diner meal. Also wish we had known Julie did an evening meal. Lots of wishes, certainly to go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms are separate from each other so very little noise.

What a lovely charming place to stay. Julie you are an excellent host and so thrilled to be living in Halvergate and we can see why.

We stayed in the room which used to be the school kitchen and our shower room was the old pantry. The room was spacious and with two armchairs too we could enjoy a cuppa whilst watching the huge tv.

The food was to die for and Julie was kind enough to provide us with a meal on New Years Eve when all around us were full and the lamb roast was wonderful.

Although we stayed in the winter we will definitely go back in the spring as the grounds are a lovely place to bird watch.

This property had all we could wish for with the broads just up the road and Norwich and Great Yarmouth near by.

Thank you so much Julie your School house is a lovely place to stay.

Stayed for 2 nights 12/13 November. Know the area very well, but after 180 mile drive elected to have evening meals rather than drive to nearby good eateries. What a great decision that was - Julie's straightforward home cooking was so mouthwateringly good. Another couple had gone out for a (indifferent) meal, so we recommended they stay in the next night - which they did and were delighted they had. Room very comfortable. Hairdryer (temporarily) absent, but supplied instantly upon request. We will look forward to staying at School Lodge again - and hope it won't be long.
