Stopped by to eat breakfast but too late (11:15 am) so we ate lunch. Chickenfried steak and Burger were good, couldn't eat all of it (burp). Service was good and because there was only three tables with people, it was fast and hot. Price was not bad and we enjoyed the meal. Parking appears to be an issue as it took us 10 minutes to find a spot parrallel to the hill ( we were in a truck with camper that hung out). Big RV's need to park elsewhere but worth the walk to the restaurant..
Interior was interesting, be sure to look at the elk heads!! No luck on the slot machine to pay for meal LOL. Sit out on the patio when it warms up a bit-great view of city!

We stopped for a late breakfast and were not disappointed. It was a weekday morning and the place was not busy at all. We had great service, fresh coffee (our server left the thermal carafe, always a good sign) and plenty of good food. My omelet was one of the best I've had. My husband had chicken fried steak. We both had pancakes on the side. Really good and fresh. Our schedule didn't allow us to return to the restaurant for dinner, but we look forward to stopping at Slate Creek Grill next time we're in town, now that we have found a place we really like with a menu that appeals to us.

Being vegetarian makes it tough to eat out...SCC has and excellent variety of choices that include vegetarian fare.

We arrived at NFR (accommodations up the hill fm grill) early evening and made it to the grill maybe 1/2 hour 45 mins before grill closed. Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated at which point we were seated in the bar area which had had open seats all along.
They had maybe 3 waitresses to accommodate, probably 1 in the kitchen. I get that it was a weekday but still it is a tourist type town and it's almost summer. Food was average, wait was long.
Wish it could have been better for such a great locale.
