The food here was delicious and I recommend researching the history of this hotel before you go. It makes the experience even better. Remember to bring cash, as this is all that they accept.

We were originally going to stop one evening for dinner but they only serve a couple of set meals so we passed. We were back in town the next day at lunch time so we decided to give it a try. They have a good selection of German favorites. I'm always a sucker for Bratwurst and they didn't disappoint.

This place is an excellent value. The wedge salad was fantastic, and I will be dreaming of that dressing. The steak was good, not the highest quality cut of meat, but it was good for the $$. The desserts, they were the showstopper! WOW!!!! Bread pudding was to die for, and the chocolate napolean, YUM. Go there at least for salad and dessert!!

The Alpine Inn serves only steak in the evening. Either 6 oz. or 9 oz filets along with salad, baked potato and Texas toast. We ate there two nights. You need to be there about 4:30 pm to put your name on the list. They open at 5. It was delicious food and a fun atmosphere.

My wife and I ate dinner at the Alpine Inn on a week night in July 2014. We did not know what to expect and when we arrived at about 4:40, the place was packed and we wondered whether we would even get in sometime that evening and almost walked away. However, we were told that the process was that they opened the restaurant doors at 5:00 pm and we were surprised that they let in the first 100 people who were waiting in line. So we waiting and fortunately were let in at 5:00 pm. I thought that since everyone was let in at the same time, we would have a long wait, but we were attended to right after we sat down. They have a limited dinner menu which includes a 6 or 9 ounce steak wrapped in bacon or some vegetarian dish. We immediately had drinks and salad and shortly after that the steak and baked potato arrived. It was very good and the price was right: $9.99 for the 6 ounce and $11.95 for the 9 ounce. Our server was excellent and very personable. We had heard that their lunches are very good, as well, and that the selection was much broader. If you do not get in at the 5 pm time, it seemed like people waited and were served later. It was an excellent and unusual dinning experience and we would highly recommend it.
