Visited during Bike Week August 2014 so it was busy! Ate there two nights in a row. There was an hour wait for a table but there is a lovely cozy bar to sit and have a drink in, or you can sit on the outdoor verandah and watch the passing 'parade' with a drink in hand. The wait is definitely worth it. The Alpine only has two mains to choose from - a filet mignon and a vegetarian dish. But so what? The steaks are sensational! Comes with sides and veggies of course, salad beforehand and always cooked to perfection. The dessert menu, however, runs to about 3 pages of delicious European favorites like apple strudel, cheesecake, berry layered cake etc. They are huge servings but oh so scrumptious. Certainly big enough to share between two people m Our waitress on both nights (same girl) was top notch. The service is fast and efficient and I have no hesitation in recommending this great eatery. Don't be put off by a wait for a table - it is certainly worth it!

“Very good”

The food here was delicious and I recommend researching the history of this hotel before you go. It makes the experience even better. Remember to bring cash, as this is all that they accept.

“Good for lunch”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

We were originally going to stop one evening for dinner but they only serve a couple of set meals so we passed. We were back in town the next day at lunch time so we decided to give it a try. They have a good selection of German favorites. I'm always a sucker for Bratwurst and they didn't disappoint.

“good value, awesome dessert!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

This place is an excellent value. The wedge salad was fantastic, and I will be dreaming of that dressing. The steak was good, not the highest quality cut of meat, but it was good for the $$. The desserts, they were the showstopper! WOW!!!! Bread pudding was to die for, and the chocolate napolean, YUM. Go there at least for salad and dessert!!

“Great steak dinner for $9.99.”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

The Alpine Inn serves only steak in the evening. Either 6 oz. or 9 oz filets along with salad, baked potato and Texas toast. We ate there two nights. You need to be there about 4:30 pm to put your name on the list. They open at 5. It was delicious food and a fun atmosphere.
