“Awesome stay”

My husband and I stayed in the Mayor's Office for 2 nights in June, 2014. We so wished we had more time to stay at the Town Hall Inn. It's one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The "landlords", as I called them, were very friendly. Our room was fabulous, very comfortable and beautiful. The bed was almost as comfortable as our bed at home. The linens were soft and plush, but bigger bath towels would have been nice. The Inn itself is very charming and I'm so glad someone had the foresight to save this historic building and make it into something useful. The only problem was that the city has Main Street in front of the Inn torn up to improve sewer and water systems, which makes getting there a little harder. But that's not the fault of the Inn's proprietors. If we ever visit the Lead, SD area again (hope, hope), we'll definitely stay at the Town Hall Inn. We highly recommend it.

Room Tip: The Mayor's Office was really neat.

We stayed at the Town Hall 3 Nights in May. The owner, Mark was great. Mark, John and Jade made you feel very welcome and was always willing to offer advice and any help they could offer. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here next time we are in the area. Everything is very clean and they have all you could want to feel at home. Absolute 5 star,We couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

In May 2014 we visited the Town hall Inn for three nights. We got the Library room with a nice King size bed and a good size bathroom. We met one of the owners Mark. He is a very kind man with a good feeling of hospitality. We received some useful tips regarding restaurants we could visit. He also gave us advice to visit the Spearfish Canyon and walk the trail of the Spearfish Fall. We also walked the Roughlock Falls trail which is a nice 1 mile trail for grown-ups like we are. There is a good launderette in the West Main Street as well which helped us to clean our clothes in a speedy way. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend it to everybody who likes rooms with high ceilings and lovely carpets on the floor. It is a 1.5 hours drive to Devils Tower, a must when you like good size rocks. Rated 5 stars for us.

Room Tip: We only have experience on the Library room which is on the side of the building. Excellent room.

I stayed here before the start of tourist season in the Hills and really enjoyed my stay! The hosts were nice, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the hotel was well-positioned to get to most of the tourist attractions in the area. One thing that was obvious to me, however, is that the hotel is not very accessible to persons with disabilities - as is an issue with most of the businesses in the Lead-Deadwood area. The hotel is on an incline, and has several stairs leading up to get into the front room. This would be a problem for anyone who has trouble getting around, so I'd definitely be aware of that before staying there.

But, if you are able-bodied and looking for a unique, interesting building to stay in, the Town Hall Inn is a great place! Quiet, pretty, nice rooms with tall ceilings and great amenities. Definitely will recommend it to friends!

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room with heavy curtains, as the area is quite bright in the mornings and it may wa...

We stayed here for two nights and we really liked this inn. First off, the inn itself used to be the old town hall, built in 1912 I believe and although it has been completely redone, its kept all of its vintage charm. The bed in our suite (the Municipal Judges Chambers) was uber comfortable. Also, the sheets were not the standard hotel fare. They felt like a very high thread count and made sleeping, heavenly.

Another detail we really liked was the bathroom towels. The proprietors had provided special blue towels and washclothes especially for us women to remove our make up. There was a little sign detailing the difference, along with make up removal clothes on the counter. Wow! What a great idea that no other place I've ever stayed in has tried before.

If our travels bring us back to lead, we will definitely rest our heads here. P.S. there is street parking in front that is 2 hour parking during the day, but doesnt seem to be policed at all or you can park across the street, in the small city lot, or down the hill & behind the Inn in there 3 or 4 spaces for free.

As a former resident of Deadwood, I've driven past the Lead Town Hall countless times, so when my daughter and I were planning to come to Deadwood/Lead on business and to visit family, we opted to stay at the Town Hall Inn. We truly enjoyed our four-night stay. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Mark, the manager, was very accommodating and attentive to his guests and always greeted us with a warm "hello." The Inn is a great value in a beautiful historic building.
