Boticelli's was recommended to use when we got to our hotel in Rapid City and we almost didn't check it out - but I'm glad we did!

We stopped in without a reservation around 7:30 or so on a Friday and while it was still fairly busy when we showed up, we only had to wait about ten minutes for them to clear a table. The hostess seemed a bit rushed but she still made sure to be greet us in a friendly manner and get someone to work on getting us a table. Once seated, our server came over and described the specials for the evening as you might expect, and also provided bread and oil for the table.

We ended up ordering some menu regular items - a steak for her and a spicy red sauce pasta dish for me. The food came out in an appropriate amount of time for a sit down semi-formal place and it was delicious! The steak was ordered medium well and it was spot on in preparation. Also, the wine selection was pretty nice and they had a good range of cheaper to more expensive options. After our entrees, we got a terrific flourless chocolate cake to share which I would definitely recommend if you like rich chocolate desserts.

I want to add that our server was great! He was the right level of conversationally friendly for a waiter in a nicer restaurant; he didn't tell you his life's story so you could get on with your meal, but he was able to add some flavor to his presentation and some friendly flavor when he learned it was our first time in Rapid City.

Boticelli's was surprisingly good considering that I went in with only moderate expectations and I would definitely say that it is worth checking out on a date or with other adult friends. I don't think it's a great venue to bring children to. Regardless, the food is great and the service if quite good, so I definitely recommend this place!

My husband had the Cioppino, which was full of shrimp, clams, muscles, fish & scallops. I had the Pollo Pignoli (chicken pesto over penne). We split an order of Cannoli for dessert. Everything was EXCELLENT, and our server, Martin, was most gracious. We enjoyed the food and our conversation with him. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

To begin with, we arrived in a wind-swept rainstorm that was challenging even for the cabdriver. The hostess was concerned for our dampness, efficient at seating, and very friendly and welcoming. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. There were 6 of us in our party, all part of a Globus tour through the Western states. We each got a different appetizer and entree. However, everything was so tasty that our forks were flying as we dug in, not only to our choice, but also to the choices of the rest of our party. The waitstaff was informed, patient, and very flexible as the storm either had people without reservations ducking in to eat or people with reservations cancelling because of the weather. They handled it all with great equanimity. I actually believed they were thrilled to have us as guests and would miss us when we left. They were THAT good. The hospitality, coupled with the delicious dinner and dessert, would make us hope that we'd find soon find ourselves again in Rapid City. Anyone who stays overnight on a schedule tour would do well to eat at Botticelli.

Skip Olive Garden and head here for lunch or dinner. Unique and authentic Italian food complimented by a wonderful selection of excellent wines. Added bonus, located downtown - lots going on!

If you're in the mood for fantastic fresh italian food, this is the restaurant for you. Our waiter was professional and knowledgable about the wine and the menu. The chicken was moist and full of flavor and our appetizer was plenty for both of us.
